  • Lovely vacation home

"Our family of 14 found this home to be a dream come true!! How wonderful to be able to walk to a beach of white sand with shelling, swimming, sunning and playing in the surf wonderful activities. We also enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and a delicious ice cream parlor. Walking to church was also possible because it was less than 10 minutes away at a leisurely walking pace. The house provided ample space for table games, a small delightful swimming pool , and just relaxing. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for grandparents with the younger generations taking the upstairs bedrooms."

  • Great place to stay.

"This was a wonderful place for me and my visiting family to stay at. The home is very clean and centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go. We definitely felt like we were staying at home, it had everything that we could have possibly needed. You can tell the owners really take pride in maintaining their place. They were even kind enough to send us a bottle of champagne and flowers because they knew we were getting married that weekend. I would definitely recommend and return there. The lady living in the cottage next door is not the most pleasant though. I woke up one morning and she was in our backyard because apparently one of her dogs was trying to dig under the fence oe something. Hopefully you don't come across her and her little yapping dogs... regardless, this is a great property. So glad we came across it!"

  • Very nice, cozy home in quiet location!

"The bottom line: A very serious, trustworthy and helpful owner of a very nice home, cozy home in a quiet neighborhood! This was our first time using HomeAway to book a vacation, and the experience could have not been better and easier. Thanks Peggy! Peggy (the owner) has been great person to deal with (quick responses/personal follow up/great recommendations). Furthermore she is a very trustworthy and made it easy to deal with her. The house is nicer than what you can see in the pictures. Everything is renovated and everything works. It is as simple as that. The screened pool/patio with a nice grill was a real plus. We really enjoyed it. In addition, the house had a very good central AC (good it is hot is Sarasota in late June/early July), great high speed Wi-Fi, good cable service and a very secure property in a quiet location. If you are looking for a quiet and cozy home near the Ringling college of Art and incredible Ringling Museum, this is the one! It is also conveniently located within a mile+ from downtown and just 1.5mi+ from Lido Key. Thanks Peggy. You made our first visit to Sarasota a great and memorable time. We will definitely come back! CT Family"

  • Spacious, clean, renovated, great location.

"We were surprised by the spaciousness of this home - lots of room for everyone, even if you had 6 people. It was clean, uncluttered, and seems to have been recently renovated in key areas (mainly bathrooms). Despite some of the older reviews, there ARE two full bathrooms, and 3 real bedrooms - one HUGE master bedroom with a full bath (shower, no tub), and a suite of 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with 2 smaller beds) with it's own full bathroom. There is a very large living room, a decent kitchen, and dining area. The large screened-in porch overlooks the back yard. There is a garage with washer/drier and bits of outdoor equipment. The location couldn't be better. It is 2 short blocks to the Venice beach entrance. It's also a nice (but long) walk to the Venice town center, along shaded Venice Avenue. Only 3 things bump this rental down from a 5-star rating: First, the scarcity of basic supplies in the house. Other units we've rented in recent history have had paper towels, basic condiments in the fridge this sort of things handy. There was some of this for us - dishwashing detergent, shower supplies, that sort of thing, but it was pretty sparse outside of the bathroom. If these things are in the garage somewhere, we didn't find them. Also, there are some minor repairs needed - one of the screened-in porch panels lacks screen, and so this is really an open porch. Various knobs are loose or missing, and some broken/missing tiles in the kitchen are just covered in a small rug. Lastly, there is a lot of evidence of mice (droppings) in the garage, and we heard odd noises at night. These down-sides are relatively minor, and ought to be easily rectified."
