  • Great vacation getaway

"Wonderful house on the water. Our stay was perfect with the exception of the weather which sometimes happens. Even with the poor weather we were able to get on the dock and fish everyday. The exterior of the house is unassuming and hides the hidden gem that is the interior. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and all the amenities of home. The house was VERY clean on our arrival. Local restaurants did not disappoint as we got our fill of the fresh local seafood. Easy trip to Savannah and the Brunswick, St Simon's and Jekyll Island area. All in all a great house in a nice quiet area - owner is a joy to work with as well."

  • Lovely Location & Property

"We stayed in Richmond Hill over the 5th to 9th November. The property was immaculately clean when we arrived; the kitchen is well equipped with good quality pots, pans, Pyrex dishes and other utensils, as well as washing and drying machines. The property is light and airy with a solid wood floor which is very easy to keep clean and the large floor to ceiling glass doors open out onto the deck which has a great view of the river. The location is great as it is on the outer bend of the river and when the tide is out the herons and egrets use the exposed sand bars for fishing. Downstairs there is a shower facility useful for cleaning off any sand before going into the main house. There is a deck facing the river which has a great view which is perfect for sitting out with a drink watching the sun go down. Savannah is about a 30 minute drive away and we went over to take a trolley bus ride and visit the railroad museum. Both excursions are worth taking as you get to see a lot of Savannah from the trolley tour and at the museum you can also take part, on the American side, in the re-enactment of the battle of Savannah! We had a great time at this property and would return to see more of Savannah and the surrounding environment."

  • Perfect vacation cottage for our first family vacation!

"I recently decided to take my wife and young children to the beach, and I needed a good home base while exploring the Georgia coast with my young family. My son is less than a year old and my daughter is two, and I knew this wouldn't be the kind of beach trip I was used to. I wanted to avoid a cramped hotel, and I still wanted an affordable and safe place for my family to stay. I decided that a house/cottage rental would be appropriate. I found this cottage on VRBO, and contacted the owners who were very friendly and helpful. They had no problems with me bringing my babies down to the cottage, and they also informed me that a brand new A/C unit was being installed on my arrival date. I was a little hesitant about going to a rental on the coast with no A/C, but they assured me that it would be done by the time we arrived. It's only about a 4-5 hour drive from north Atlanta, and we arrived at a beautiful, clean, and very cool air-conditioned cottage! The floor plan was very spacious and my little ones had a good time running around and circles and crawling on the floor! We all loved the shady screened in porch under the old oaks covered in Spanish moss. We made daily trips down to Jekyll island on highway 17. It's a very scenic and peaceful drive up and down the coast, and after long days on the beach with the little ones- it was such a relief to have such a comfortable place to return to. The kitchen is massive, and we were able to have nice dinners together in the evenings. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for some real rest and relaxation. Also, anyone looking for a nice getaway with the family, even with small children- this is the place to be. Very safe, very modern, and very comfortable. The property manager and the owners were super helpful throughout our stay. We will be back! No doubt. Thank you for helping us have a fantastic first family vacation! - Jeremiah Perez"
