  • Perfect for Families

"We stayed at this lovely home for 3 nights for a family reunion. First of all, the house is gorgeous. It's spacious yet somehow cozy at the same time. It was also very clean, which was much appreciated, after staying at a less than clean house we rented off VRBO earlier in the week. The set up is perfect for several couples or families; each bedroom has its very own bathroom and really comfortable king bed. The rooms are all bright and cheerful. Our kids had fun sleeping in the daybeds in the sunroom. The kitchen was huge, perfect for cooking meals for our large group. Each level has a deck or porch, which we all loved sitting out on to watch the sunset. The yard is filled with flowers and has beautiful landscaping. I'm originally from this area, and the location of the rental is great. It's about 5 minutes to the pool/golf course area of Sky Valley, about 10 minutes to Scaly Mountain, 15 minutes to Dillard & Rabun Gap, and 20 minutes to Highlands. It's also only about a mile from the Rabun Bald trailhead, which is the 2nd highest mountain in Georgia, and by far the best mountain view in the State, if you are in shape enough to do the 2 mile hike to the top. For those looking for easier hikes, the hike by the Mud Creek Falls is an easy flat 1 mile to the covered bridge, for 2 miles roundtrip, or if you want even easier, there is a 1 1/2 mile roundtrip hike to Sunset Rock in Highlands. We really enjoyed shopping and dining in Highlands as well as driving down Hwy 64 to look at Dry Falls & Bridal Veil Falls. For a more strenuous hike, Whiteside Mountain was definitely our favorite outdoor adventure of the trip. In summary, this house was literally perfect: great location, clean, comfortable, roomy, and had everything you could need. The owner Donna was great to work with. I definitely recommend!"

  • Fourth with Friends

"Had a wonderful stay here with friends over the 4th of July. The house was comfortable and one of the best stocked houses we have ever rented. There was plenty of privacy for everyone and still a cozy feeling about the place. The screened in porch was a favorite place to gather in the mornings and evenings. No one wanted to leave and everyone is ready to go back. The driveway was a little scary until we figured out how to do it. He is not kidding when he says do not attempt if the weather is bad."

  • We absolutely loved it!

"I rented this lovely home for a family reunion and my youngest brothers wedding at the adorable chapel up on the hill that you can see from the back porch. The spacious home allowed enough room for me and my sisters and our families to celebrate and enjoy each others company comfortably without getting in each others way. Another brother lives a few doors down from this property so it was a perfect setup for us to go back and forth between the two homes. We all are so in love with Sky Valley and the beautiful mountain views. An added bonus was the spectacular views of the fireworks on July 4th. On a clear night, the stars are so beautiful and they seem close enough to reach out and touch. My grandchildren learned a lot about the stars and constellations while we were there. The most important part of the whole trip was making lasting memories and being together. This home has everything you need to create a meal. Plenty of pots and pans, drinkware and utensils. Whatever we needed that the home did not already provide were purchased from the nearby Piggly Wiggly supermarket. We talked about renting this place again for another family reunion or maybe even a major holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas. I can't wait to get back to Sky Valley and enjoy this beautiful place of heaven on earth. The only issue that was of some concern was the garbage left on the porch at nighttime. I was worried that bears or other animals would rummage through our trash, but that did not happen. I would have felt better had the trash been in a large trashcan with a lid. It all turned out very well regardless."
