  • Great base for Hamakua coast

"VERY close to Akaka falls, delicious bakery around the corner, beautiful setting. All new and well cared for. Kitchenette small but adequate for simple meal prep. No oven or stove, but outdoor covered grill available."

  • Turtles for neighbors

"We're back in cold New Hampshire now. My adult family of six had a great time here. The weather was beautiful and swimming over at Richardson's in the tide pool was a lot of fun. I wish that we could have stayed a few more days. The Botanical gardens in Hilo is truly awesome. Thanks Again"

  • Nice clean, comfortable, attractive home just feet from ocean!

"If you would like to experience Hawaiian island living just a few feet from waves crashing into a cliff below, it would be hard to find a better vacation home. One of the two bedrooms, the living area and the lanai (porch) all face the sea. Looking out, it almost feels like one is on a boat, except their is no rocking. We enjoyed dining on the lanai, watching the hypnotic wave action, and we enjoyed letting the sound of the waves lull us to sleep at night. There are several restaurants nearby in Pahoa, but we enjoyed cooking and eating most breakfasts and dinners in this well supplied home. The home was a good base for visiting a number of beautiful parks, and was close to a hike where one could watch hot lave shooting into the sea at sunset. This is the lush, green, wet side of the Big Island. The vegetation is spectacularly beautiful. it rained most nights, but late mornings through evenings were clear for us. Between the nighttime rains and the sea spray this house is definitely in a humid location! The good news is that the temperatures in January were perfect. We never felt too hot or too cold. My only complaint about the house is that the beds are exceptionally soft. My back needs a bit more support than most. Fortunately I found a mattress in the closet that let me sleep comfortably on the floor."
