  • Great location, views and space

"This house has ample space for a large group, with 4 very private bedrooms and huge common areas. Note to parents with young kids: the 2 masters are completely separate from the kid rooms (downstairs and outside), so you may be uncomfortable with that separation. There are also a ton of stairs, so people with mobility issues should steer clear of this property. The veranda alone is worth the trip! Just lovely. The house is very well stocked. One (of 2) tvs was broken during our stay, and there are no tvs in the bedrooms (a plus?). My kids found the pool too chilly, but you can pay to have it warmed, and the beach at Mauna Kea is the way to go anyway. The very loud golf course maintenance woke us up at 5:30am 3 mornings of our trip, mowing and blowing for a full 90 minutes each day. The sprinklers also go off right outside the kid rooms very early. If these don't wake you up, the birds will. Just means you'll need a nap every afternoon on that veranda!"

  • Wonderful Family Vacation Rental

"We rented this home for 18 days in August to celebrate a birthday. For the first ten days we were joined by our children and grandchildren (ages 6 to 13). The bunkroom was perfect for the grandchildren: if they weren't at the beach, in the pool, playing in the yard, or sightseeing, they gathered in the bunkroom to cool down and play games, read or watch TV. We were joined by adult family members for the remainder of our stay. We all enjoyed the amazing outdoor living space and we'll always remember eating dinner outdoors during a rain storm without getting wet. The kitchen was very well-equiped. The AC in the bedrooms was really appreciated. We enjoyed the restaurants in Kawaihae and be sure to shop at The Fish House for fresh ahi and poke. We've already recommended this house to others for a great vacation."

  • Great Place!

"This is our first time staying in this development Wai 'ula 'ula. We have stayed at other places within the Mauna Kea Resort such as the Villas at Mauna Kea but we liked this location just as well and it was much less expensive. All of the reviews are accurate. We are a family of 6 with three kids and a elderly mother-in-law. We needed a ground floor unit with no stairs inside the condo for easy access for the mother-in-law. The beds were are super comfortable and excellent quality. The view from the condo is excellent. Condo has a great layout, great kitchen, is beautifully decorated and nicely is furnished with all new high-quality furniture and appliances. The condo owner and their manager were highly responsive and happily took care of all our requests. The privacy was excellent as we did not notice anyone around us or above us. The air conditioning was quiet and worked great. All in all this condo worked out perfectly and will stay here again."
