  • A wonderful stay for our family at Palm Villas

"We recently took our 5th trip to the Big Island with our now family of 5 (kids aged 3, 7 and 9). This was our 3rd stay in the Palm Villas and our first in this particular unit. I would have to say this was our best stay yet. The condo was exactly as described and pictured - in fact even better. We had an idea from the description that this unit was child friendly, but when we arrived we found it had literally everything you could think of needing when traveling with young children. Our 3 year old is in between sleeping in a crib and a bed and I was pleasantly surprised to even find a toddler bed rail in one of the bedroom closets that we could use for her! All 3 of our kids loved riding the scooters - they were so excited there was one for each of them AND the helmets as well. I can't say enough about how well this unit is appointed for adults and children as well. That being said, the furnishings and decor were very classy and all the "kid gear" was stored away in closets so this unit would be perfect for an adult only trip as well. In addition to how wonderful the unit itself was, I have to say what a pleasure it was to work with Christine. When our middle daughter became ill a few days before our original trip date and was not well enough to travel the morning of our planned departure, Christine was very quick to respond to my request to change the dates of our trip. Not only did she bump our stay back by a week to our new requested dates, there was no additional cost or fees to do so, even being so last minute. She also allowed us a late check out on our final day since our flight home didn't depart until 9pm. I can't tell you how much of a relief it was to work with someone who understands what it is like to travel with children and was as accommodating as she was. I would absolutely rent this condo again and will definitely recommend it to friends and family traveling to the Big Island."

"We absolutely loved our time at this townhouse. As the previous visitors stated-it is superb for a family with kids and or teenagers. This is what we loved: Townhouse- 1) Ample living/sleeping space. Incredibly quiet end unit 2) Plenty of beach toys, scuba gear, ect in garage 3) Managers quick to respond 4) Spices, cooking utensils, and all basic equipment plus outside propane grill 5) Plenty of parking (we had 2 vehicles and parking was not an issue) 6) The grounds were impeccable 7) Incredibly Safe and Secure 8) Tons of towels ect but the washer is a small front loader so do not over stuff it. We learned the hard way. Pool- THE BEST POOL EVER! Hot tub, waterfall, lava style bottom and the perfect temperature. It was incredibly quiet and rarely used by others- It felt like our own oasis. Beach- Beach access card for beach. Slightly rocky farther out so be sure to bring scuba shoes if you are going to scuba dive. Plenty of chairs and cabanas free of charge-first come basis. Restaurant on location. Community- Mauna Lanai is a great community. Roads are wide enough to safely walk, run, or bike. The grocery store, coffee shop, ect is less than 5 minutes away in a car. It is a 10 minute drive to Hapuna Beach & Beach 69. $5 to park at Hapuna Beach. Be sure to bring the umbrella from the garage. We drove to the Hapuna Prince Hotel a few times. Say you are dining at the restaurant. Guest Parking is south of the lobby. Happy Hour food is reasonable. Pool overlooks their beach. Truly stunning view. We went into Kona for groceries (Safeway, Walmart, and Cosco all are close) then supplemented with the Mauna Lanai grocery store. We headed north to the Seafood Grill on the last day. Local Seafood spot which was really good. Local fare and not pretentious. Check out the farmers markets on wed & sat at Wimeae- great place to buy coffee and homemade macadamia nut items. This was absolute paradise. We would come back in a heart beat and felt incredibly lucky to stumble upon this location and townhouse. We would highly recommend this place. Also if you want a great local photographer for outdoor family photos check out James Rubio Photography. He was incredible!! Aloha"

  • Wonderful unit, excellent location!

"Our family of 4 absolutely loved staying in this unit. Having 3 bedrooms was amazing with 2 teens - 1 boy, 1 girl. The unit is stylish, very clean, extremely well stocked as far as kitchen, linens, towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and so on. Totally comfortable and classy. The master bedroom is huge. Having a washer and dryer was a big help, just know that the washer is a little loud and the dryer needs a couple runs per load. The pool is lovely, as are the grounds. The beach club is just beautiful, with great snorkeling very close to shore, paddle boards, classy restaurant. We honestly didn't know where it was, but it is on South Kaniku Drive. We grew very fond of the little supermarket at the Shops and were there most days. Saved a lot of money on restaurants. Do try the vegan/vegetarian place at the Shops (no matter your food preferences). If you happen to be there on July 4, as we were lucky enough to do, go to Turtle Independence Day! Management was very responsive and helpful. The location was great for day trips north/east like Pololu, Waimea, Hamakua Coast, Waipio and even Hilo. Or south to Kailua-Kona and snorkeling at Captain Cook. Highly recommend!!!"

  • Wonderful for Family Time Together

"We stayed for 8 nights, six of them with our daughter, husband, and their infant. Our other daughter, husband, and two young children rented another unit at Palm Villas just two small buildings away. We ate most of our dinners at our unit to accommodate bedtime for the infant. We had a wonderful time. The unit's layout and amenities including the grill were excellent. The lookout from the lanai on to the golf course was relaxing and uplifting. Only Unit A has this vista. It also is only a two-minute walk to the Palm Villas pool, which was great for children. Having access to the Beach Club ocean cove and the calm, fish-filled waters there was another plus. The owners were easy to contact before, during, and after. We will return."
