  • Great place

"Our two families loved this condo on the sunny side of the big island. It's only 2 miles down to some of the best snorkeling area and close to the coffee tasting areas. The kids enjoyed the pool - not sure why they would rather swim there than in the warm ocean but it seems like that is what kids do. It was great to have beach equipment in the condo like chairs and umbrellas that we could borrow. The well appointed kitchen and BBQ helped us save cash by eating a lot of our meals in. We weathered tropical storm Darby with just a little rain and wind. We were there during a hot spell so needed the fans and open windows to cool it down when we returned each day. SO much to do we didn't even use the TV. Wayne provided a lot of tips on places to eat and things to do that were helpful - a very smooth experience! Thank you for a great stay in a great place!"

  • Clean, modern and well maintained

"The condo is roomy, with a large kitchen area full of modern well working appliances. In unit washer and dryer are great, as well as the bathroom facilities being good too. The shower in the master bathroom is exceptionally nice, a large glass wall type shower that is perfect for one or two to enjoy. These condos have large lanais (decks) and this unit has plenty of nice furniture out there to spend your time on. The lanai faces the ocean, which is pretty much blocked by trees and other condo complexes closer to the water, but you can still see the water and enjoy the sights. It's very pretty, looking out over a path which leads to the pool and then you see a well maintained golf course. The pool is great, large enough for adults who want a little exercise to swim back and forth in, but not so big if you're watching multiple children that you feel you cant get to them to help if they need it. The hot tub is nice as well, a good size to fit 6-8 people comfortably. It did have problems one of the days of our stay and wasnt very hot, but they sent maintenance over to fix it and by the next evening it was hot again. It's a bridge unit, so when you make a Costco run (huge double door fridge makes this possible) you can go straight across from the parking lot to the unit. My brother's family had a ground floor unit which means you have to walk up and down a flight of stairs every time. Yes, ground floor is nice, but for us we appreciated having a parking lot level unit, plus your view of the ocean and surrounding area is much better from the second floor. Our only complaint? At least at the time of this review, the grill on the lanai, which is something we use almost daily while in Hawaii, is a small electric grill. Sized for two people, but the other issue is the cord is 6 feet long and there are no outlets on the deck, so we ended up never even using it. I like flame seared meat, not electric. My brothers unit had a large gas grill, as well as our friends who stayed next door, so when we cooked up our ahi or steaks we just used one of their grills and had dinner together. It's just something to be aware of, and if this matters to you, check with the owner before booking, it may very well be updated to a gas grill by the time you're reading this. Gayle was good to deal with before the visit and during, that was a nice plus. Our family of 4, two adults and two children, would HAPPILY stay in this condo again."

  • Great condo. Great location.

"We have stayed in this complex once before, actually the one right above this one. We like this location. It is easy to get to everything from here. Condo had all you will need for your stay. It was very clean and comfortable."

  • Peaceful well-appointed adult retreat

"Wow - what a great vacation! Pat gave us such good communication before, during, and after. When we arrived there was a nice note from the local property manager and some chocolate macadamia nuts - nice touch. Everything was clean and there were plenty of condiments and starters for cooking in the full kitchen. It was super quiet and peaceful overlooking the golf course and you can see the ocean to some degree. We did not use the pool or even see many golfers so it was mostly to ourselves though we can see the other units wet obviously occupied. We were less than a mile from a good sized shopping center with a grocery store, movie theater, and several bars and restaurants. We only went to one of them (L&M Hawaiian BBQ) and it was good for lunch. About 1.75 miles away is the beach, with good snorkeling and boogie boarding and plenty of parking. It was about a 2 hour drive to the Volcanoes National Park which had some great hikes, and it was maybe 75 minutes to the visitors center at Mauna Kea where the stargazing was awesome. Downtown Kona was maybe a 10 minute drive. Cons: it would be tough to see what the Big Island has to offer without a car. We are car people anyway so this wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for you. The bus service is cheap ($2 all the way to Hilo!) but it runs more or less on island time. Also, this unit has no AC and got warm, particularly in the afternoons. Pat has provided several floor fans and most rooms have ceiling fans and even the front screen door locks where you can try to get a cross breeze. This was December, and I wonder what it might be in July or August. Sleeping was fine and mornings were great, but afternoons were a bit warm. Security deposit was also returned within a week of us leaving the unit. If I were coming back to the Big Island in the winter, I would definitely connect with Pat! Mahalo!"
