  • Fabulous oceanfront view!

"This was our first trip to Hawaii, and after a few days on Waikiki, we wanted to experience something away from Honolulu. After researching all the islands, we decided to stay on Oahu and spend a few days on the North Shore, splurging on a unit with an oceanfront view. Are we glad we did! In early March, the North Shore waves were still huge. We spend most of our time just sitting and watching those mesmerizing waves. I brought some work with me and spent many happy hours sitting with my laptop at the dining table, looking at those waves. Our stay was very relaxing--just what a Hawaiian vacation should be. This house is between the Banzai Pipeline beach and Shark's Cove--a 10-minute walk to the Foodland and the food trucks next door to it, and about a 15-minute drive to Haleiwa. In other words, it's in a perfect location, just a few minutes from everything on the North Shore. The house is very clean but we're giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because its features are limited. The kitchen has no microwave, dishwasher, or coffeemaker (there's a French press, and Foodland sells coffee and opens at 6 AM), and cooking implements are limited--it would be hard to cook a holiday meal here. The bedroom has only one nightstand and only one (wall) light--not the best for reading in bed. And the only air conditioner is in the living room. The bedroom has a fan, but the trade winds don't flow through the back of the house so, even with the fan on and window open, we found it stuffy. Otherwise the house was very comfortable. Still, I can't overstate what an incredible view this house has. Photos don''t do the view justice! This was the best part of our Hawaiian vacation. If the shortcomings in features aren't an issue for you, this is a terrific choice."

  • Hula hut is a pocket of paradise with Backyards as your backyard (surf break)

"My fiancé and I consider our stay at the Hula Hut a massive highlight of the time we spent in Hawaii. The cosy and homely hut was perfect for a couple with all amenities in perfect working condition meaning we could cook at home too. Location fantastic, with famous Ted's bakery across the road. The sunset over the beach was spectacular and Dan loved the surf break at his back door step. As there are three accommodation options on the one property you are sharing common space with other families, and the only down fall was toddler noise from the neighbours early in the morning which is no big deal, just not sound proof windows in the hut - on the plus sound the crashing waves put me to sleep! :) Tyler and Melissa are legends, we thank them for having us stay at their home and hope to return."

  • Perfect hosts, perfect location.

"Perfect location, across from a beach, 2min walk to Grocery, Food Trucks, and Tide pools. 5-10min from other popular beaches, surfing, and town. Nice house, good kitchen, small baths. (No AC and roosters crowing in the morning, but that's normal here). Hosts were wonderful. Responsive before and during our stay and had great recommendations. (Opals thai is a must - make reservations)."

  • Great house with a fantastic view!

"We have stayed at several houses on the North Shore through the years and this house was the best by far. We stayed at this beautiful beach house during the last week of March. The home is well maintained. The A/C units worked great when we needed them. The Lanai is one of the best on the island in my opinion. We spent a lot of time on the Lanai and on the deck overlooking the beach. Great sunsets! The walk in shower and the outside shower were great pluses! The security gate was appreciated as well. In summary, we highly recommend this house and will plan to stay there again."
