  • Clean, quaint and perfect!

"For those looking for a small cottage within a short walking distance of the beach, this is great! The cottage itself is a bit dated, but it has been nicely kept and renovated with current technology and comforts. Yes, the houses in this area are close together, but I never felt as if my privacy was being invaded. This is a nice property, as it sits off the road (giving it more privacy and quiet ambiance) and has a small yard with a fire pit and plenty of space for a pet. It also includes off-street parking, which is a major plus! The listing says that it is "parking for two," although I would question that depending on what type of vehicle you drive. Two sedans could fit in this space, but I'm not so sure about two vans. Some things to consider when renting: 1. The cottage has a full kitchen with many tools, dishes and what-nots to help you prepare meals. 2. While there are plastic blinds on the bedroom windows, there are no curtains or shades. There are shades in the living and dining area, but they are shear. This is great for brightening up the room. However, for people like me who prefer a much darker room when sleeping, you may want to think about ways to help you avoid this problem. 3. Within walking distance of the property is a big park and the Michigan City Zoo. Also within the park is a nice splash water park for cooling off. (Please check operating times before going.) 4. The beach was wonderful. Our family visited in August and the water was cool and clean. Locals and vacationers in this area were very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this property to renters."

  • Home Away From Home

"This was our fourth stay at Beachwalk and our first time at this home. We love the Beachwalk amenities--beach, pool, tennis court, kayaks, paddle boards, parks, etc. And this home made our experience even better! This well-maintained home is perfectly located near the pool and a grassy park. Our kids loved the location! We also appreciated all the decks and porches. Even with two busy families vacationing together, there was always a place to find privacy and relaxation. Linda communicated promptly and was extremely easy to work with. We hope to return to The Weigt Room!"

  • Clean and ready for our family.

"This is our fourth stay in the Beachwalk community, and Castle in the Sand was by far the best equipped with regard to kitchen supplies (I have a very picky chef husband) and beach necessities. To have four umbrellas, countless beach towels, and an amble number of beach chairs was much appreciated. Steven was quick to respond to questions and we were very happy and comfortable during our entire stay. We hope to have opportunity to stay here on our next family reunion."

  • Another awesome vacation

"My family and I had another great vacation at the Pineapple Retreat! We couldn't believe it had already been 5 years since we had been there before and we don't know why we waited so long. The house is SO nice. They provide everything you might need including a wagon, stroller, booster seat, beach bag, beach blanket, movies, you name it! We enjoyed the pool a lot! The kiddie pool was great for my toddler. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. And we also enjoyed the Washington Park Zoo that is a 3 minute drive, if that. Thank you, again!"
