  • great home for family vacation

"We all enjoyed our stay at "About Time". The location was perfect - between the pool and beach. Very family friendly - 7 adults and 2 young children. Really liked the open layout and large living area. The home was well supplied with paper products, laundry supplies, and towels. The kitchen was very well stocked - we ate in every meal but one. We used the gas grill for most our meals and it worked great. We enjoyed the beach, pool, and play ground. Found everything we needed for going to the beach: lawn chairs, beach umbrella, sand toys, cooler, and wagon. We found the home adequately clean and maintained. Todd was quick to respond when we contacted him with minor problems. We would suggest adding a shower to the master bathroom - the existing two showers are very small. We recommend "About Time" for a family vacation. Other places we enjoyed during our stay were Bubbles Ice Cream Parlor, Bridges Waterside Grille, and the Washington Park Zoo."

  • A great place for a multi-family vacation.

"We had a wonderful stay at The Crooked Cottage and the owners were easy to work with. The bedroom arrangements worked great for our family of 8 adults and 5 kids (1-13). The house was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of cookware and dinnerware and a beautiful large grill. Also lots of games and beach accessories. It was great to walk down the path to the beach without crossing a road. We spent mornings and afternoons at the beach, but we could have done other things in the area. There's a small zoo close by and other attractions, but the weather was perfect everyday so we were happy with just digging in the sand and jumping in the waves at the beach. We spent the evenings playing games on the deck and walking back to the beach for the sunset. Shopping and restaurants were a short ride away. We all enjoyed our family gathering at Crooked Cottage."

  • Great place for a family reunion

"The Renovated Beach House was the perfect place for our family reunion with 9 adults ranging in age from 24 to 83. The location with direct access to the beach was perfect. We ate almost all of our meals on the large back deck overlooking the lake. The kitchen was well equipped and could easily accommodate cooking for 9 people. The beach at this location was not crowded at all which was very nice and the lounge chairs provided by the owner for beach use were really appreciated. I can highly recommend this property and every one in our party raved about how great it was to stay here. You definitely get your money's worth when renting this property and the owner was very helpful and always responded quickly."

  • Beautiful and well equipped vacation home.

"My husband and I and our adult children rented this home overlooking Lake Michigan during the Thanksgiving holiday. The home was very comfortable, especially the large and open kitchen/dining/family room. It would be a great place to gather in the summer as there is a very nice back deck, yard, sunroom, and an upper deck with a great view of the lake. The only drawback, as others have mentioned, is that it is really just a 3 bedroom home. The fourth "bedroom" is in the basement which is in the open and has three uncomfortable hospital type beds. It would be great for older kids or teens (if you trust they won't escape out the basement door at night). The beach is just across the street and down a flight of stairs but you have a beautiful view of the lake from the house. The house was very clean and we had plenty of towels and blankets. Laundry facilities are in the basement as well as a Fuse Ball table and a ping pong table. The house is close to restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful."
