  • Another awesome vacation

"My family and I had another great vacation at the Pineapple Retreat! We couldn't believe it had already been 5 years since we had been there before and we don't know why we waited so long. The house is SO nice. They provide everything you might need including a wagon, stroller, booster seat, beach bag, beach blanket, movies, you name it! We enjoyed the pool a lot! The kiddie pool was great for my toddler. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. And we also enjoyed the Washington Park Zoo that is a 3 minute drive, if that. Thank you, again!"

  • Manatee review

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location. Great vacation experience. The golf cart was definitely a selling point. We would not have enjoyed walking that far everyday. Beach chairs handy and appreciated the toilet paper, dishwasher and dish soap provided even though it was not stated on the form. My son loved the basketball hoop and close proximity of playground was great. No problems with manatee retreat. Seemed clean. Only maintenance problem was that the bathroom door on main floor did not close presenting privacy issues for the bedroom. If they are looking to stock anything new I would suggest a 13 x 9 pan for baking. We also could not find hot pads to use so had to use towels. We did a lot of cooking in oven and on gas stove and pan handles got really hot. Thanks for a great vacation experience!"

  • Clean, quaint and perfect!

"For those looking for a small cottage within a short walking distance of the beach, this is great! The cottage itself is a bit dated, but it has been nicely kept and renovated with current technology and comforts. Yes, the houses in this area are close together, but I never felt as if my privacy was being invaded. This is a nice property, as it sits off the road (giving it more privacy and quiet ambiance) and has a small yard with a fire pit and plenty of space for a pet. It also includes off-street parking, which is a major plus! The listing says that it is "parking for two," although I would question that depending on what type of vehicle you drive. Two sedans could fit in this space, but I'm not so sure about two vans. Some things to consider when renting: 1. The cottage has a full kitchen with many tools, dishes and what-nots to help you prepare meals. 2. While there are plastic blinds on the bedroom windows, there are no curtains or shades. There are shades in the living and dining area, but they are shear. This is great for brightening up the room. However, for people like me who prefer a much darker room when sleeping, you may want to think about ways to help you avoid this problem. 3. Within walking distance of the property is a big park and the Michigan City Zoo. Also within the park is a nice splash water park for cooling off. (Please check operating times before going.) 4. The beach was wonderful. Our family visited in August and the water was cool and clean. Locals and vacationers in this area were very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this property to renters."

  • First Visit!

"A spacious, comfortable getaway for our Family at Thanksgiving. Beds were comfortable, lots of linens, towels and dinnerware for everyone and the second floor sitting area made a great area for the kids to use their PlayStation. All in all, a wonderful vacation with lots of memories made. Close proximity to the Outlet Mall, some great Restaurants and we even ordered pizza one night. Being from Chicago, (who really has the best pizza around), we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious Albano's was! We would definitely recommend this home, especially if you have a larger group. You can have privacy when you want, or sit together at the huge table and play games. The kitchen is a bit small, but didn't deter us at all from cooking a huge Thanksgiving dinner. We're already making plans for next year!"
