  • Happy to be back

"My husband and I have stayed at this property in winter only, so it was a joy to return for a summer visit. The house is beautiful and immaculate, with all the amenities one could want. We love having such a beautiful and inviting kitchen while we are there, and being able to walk out the door and stroll the peaceful, quiet, wooded roads and open pasture areas of Tryon Farm. Lots of birds at this time of year really added to our pleasure. Laurel is a superb and responsive host."

  • Charming vacation home close to Lake Michigan, Lighthouse, zoo, park and some great places to eat!

"My husband and I and our two boys, 20 and 17 years, took our vacation at the end of September. We absolutely loved it here!!! Eileen was there when we arrived and was very kind and helpful in giving suggestions of things to do in the area. The home is very cozy and comfortable and has everything you could ever need for a fun, relaxing time with your family. If you forgot something, make sure to check the basement! We forgot our Frisbee and what do ya know? The same Frisbee was in this basement! The deck is full of beautiful flowers and I'm totally in love with the dining table and bouncy chairs! The yard is a perfect size and we used the fire pit every night of our stay. In the mornings, we'd take a walk around the neighborhood, which we really enjoyed. The beach is a short walk down the street. It's spectacular! Be very mindful, however, if you take the path that's at the end of the street. On the second day, I managed to stumble upon a huge screw buried in the sand that went straight into my flip-flop. It was at least 5 inches long and only managed to nick the bottom of my foot. I'm not sure why it was in the sand but we threw it away and I hobbled back to the house, hoping to find some peroxide, which I did find in the cabinet above the toilet. After that incident, I'd walk down a few streets and then hop on the path to the beach. My family still used that same path and never had any issues. Anyway, the location of this home is perfect! It's close to the zoo, park, the lighthouse, and just a short drive to some great restaurants and shopping at the Lighthouse Place Outlets. We even scheduled a tour of the Barker Mansion! It was amazing!!! My family and I would love to come back during the warmer summer months in order to enjoy the boating and other water activities on the lake. The charters didn't run after Labor Day and the water was a bit too cold to swim. We still had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back!!! Thanks so much, Eileen, for your hospitality and kindness!"

  • Wonderful weekend getaway...

"Castle in the Sand is the perfect spot for a getaway with friends or family. We spend most of our time together in the large kitchen/dining area and on the screened-in front porch. The property is about 30 minutes from the Warren Dunes, which Were a wonderful place to visit and explore. Being from Chicago, we were happy to find that Uber was also easily accessible. The place was very clean and had all the equipment/amenities you could need. Thank you!"

  • Huckleberry House was beautiful, quiet, and roomy enough for our family of 11. we enjoyed our stay.

"What a vacation! Close to a wonderful playground, this home was a perfect choice for our family. It was a short walk to Lake Kai, where we fished, kayaked, and used paddle boards (easy to reserve, and free), and to the pool, which was never too crowded, and also had a baby pool. It was a 10 minute walk (or golf cart ride) to a big, gorgeous Lake Michigan beach. Huckleberry House was great to return to, with 2 living spaces, a great kitchen, and plenty of bedrooms for relaxing in. We especially enjoyed the 2 big porches, and often ate outside, or gathered there for drinks after dark. Deanna was great to work with, and always responded quickly to our questions. We will be back!"
