  • The Best!

"Our family had a wonderful time - your home away from home was perfect. Housekeeping had the house spotless! This is a great location. We brought kayaks to paddle in the tidal cove, enjoyed the decks, screen porch and lobster delivered to our door by the neighbor. Check out the local food co-op for groceries. We saw fox, deer, eagles and a heron right there. Many hiking trails nearby, especially to Barren island at low tide. Our family with 2 teenage boys had a great vacation. The owners were great to work with. Definitely would recommend this rental."

  • Ideal getaway!!!

"My husband and I have been going to Mt. Desert Island for over 45 years to enjoy the spectacular ocean walks and views, mountains, and lakes that the island offers. As much as we loved our twice (or thrice) annual trips to Acadia, the noisy motels/hotels and long restaurant lines were becoming tiresome and diminished our level of enjoyment. We'd often rented cottages elsewhere but had never found a cottage in the Bar Harbor area that we liked until we stumbled upon Paul's Cottage. What we ideally had wanted was a cottage on the ocean with a fireplace that offered both privacy and easy access to Acadia Park. After spending a fall and spring week in Paul's Cottage this past year, we have found it a perfect fit for us, offering many amenities including the following. - situated right on the shore with stunning westerly island and sunset views - welcoming, friendly, and accommodating owners (available but not intrusive) - a large updated kitchen not wanting for anything - fresh lobster and other seafood, produce, groceries, etc. available within a short drive - very good restaurants (especially in season) if desired - Acadia Park sites within easy driving distance - various books and games to enjoy by the huge fireplace (endless supply of firewood available) or on the spacious deck overlooking the water - the Southwest Harbor Library issues guest passes for non-residents for supplemental reading choices We are very much looking forward to our two-week stay this fall and are considering a winter visit at some point."

  • Comfortable, well-appointed accommodations for our family!

"This property was just perfect for our family of 5 (but could certainly accommodate a few more guests). We visited Deer Isle for a big annual family reunion and have always stayed in one of the inns on the Island previously - having more space to cook, explore, and relax was a wonderful change! The property is centrally located yet quiet and secluded. The house itself is really lovely, with gorgeous views of the water from every room. We enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen to prepare meals and appreciated that the owners provided everything we needed. Our kids had a blast in the upstairs bedroom with their own TV and loved taking the kayaks out in the cove. We had a wonderful week, and we hope to return!"

  • North woods retreat

"We enjoyed the Carriage House for the month of Oct. and could have stayed longer. The cottage is tucked into the hillside with lovely natural landscaping. Each time we drove up the road from the highway, we felt that we were returning home. The inside of the cottage is sunny, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The upstairs kitchen and dining room have a great view. Our favorite activities were hiking, beachcombing, and prowling around Camden. We'd recommend this cottage to anyone who likes privacy and a natural setting."
