  • A charming home on the water

"The home was tastefully decorated and had a great floor plan. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the home. It is located in a quiet area and the restaurants and service do close quite early, so plan accordingly. The house is located on the water with a view of the harbor and a short path to the shore. It is a great place for relaxation."

"Unbelievable! Superlative; a perfect solution to our dream vacation in Maine. Located in an area surrounded by secluded harbor towns with NO traffic lights! One hour by car to travel to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The view from the house of the cove at sunrise, the ocean at dusk...and stars in the sky at night are breathtaking. The house is off the road and surrounded by mature trees at the edge of the typical rocky coast. The interior decorations, layout are as described and you feel you are "down East". The housekeeping is immaculate, clean and fresh . The decor is detailed with appointments, are picture perfect and yet homey...yet like visiting family. The welcome with wine and the friendship bread was a pleasant surprise. Hanging out, relaxing in the Adirondack chairs, sipping wine...and having time to converse or just read a book...lounge in the hammock and nap...all with a breeze and scent of salty air! Thankful to be away from it all. The desktop photo on my computer now is the photo of the ocean and rocky shore from the house! Views for everywhere are keepers. And what is a vacation without special food adventures? At the house, the kitchen featured CuisinArt, cast iron and a gigantic lobster pot and is well stocked, great for steamed lobster dinners in; or for that occasional special romantic evening dining in. We found lobster available fresh off the boats in the harbor at reduced prices only found in Maine. We had our Boxer/Lab dog along and enjoyed local restaurants for breakfast on occasion, lunches on the wharf, and dinners on the friendly as well. The location provides opportunities to play tourist at Acadia and Bar Harbor, or just enjoy watching the activity of the lobster boats in the harbors, a visit to U.S. Bell...for a dinner bell or quilt? How about lunch on the wharf at Corea Harbor? The locals are friendly and very helpful. Sally is a superb hostess; we travel often and she is outstanding in her professional yet personal manner in providing responsive, timely support and recommendations. We plan to return...the greatest complement we can offer. Thank you for the perfect, memorable vacation location."

  • Staying in a Barn- just added to the excitement of the trip!

"We just spent 5 nights in the restored antique Barn- owner did a nice job remodeling. PROS- easy access to Schoodic Point, Bike Riding the Loop, Seascape Bike/Kayak rentals, Ferry , IGA grocery store located in Winter Harbor, The Lob Store , Pickled Wickle restaurant, Corea Light House We found this side of Acadia much less crowded and very scenic. Bathroom and Kitchen- great - all items needed were available. Loft- very nice Sitting outside on the patio -very relaxing CONS- the barn has no air conditioner, but 2 large exhaust fans that keep it cool. The time we were there it was not an issue. Weather great! The twin bed on the ground floor needs to be replaced (mattress very old). TV- you get 2 local channels with the rabbit ears. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back next year!"

  • Great relaxing vacation in Maine

"This was our first trip to Maine and we loved it! The A-frame cabin has everything you need for a great stay. Clean, comfortable bed, and great views. Sunrises are spectacular. Kitchen is well equipped and everything is there to prepare whole Maine lobster or any other meal of your choice. This is for guests who appreciate the great outdoors and want to get away from the city. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are less than an hour away. Local lobster fisherman work their traps in front of the cabin, and you can purchase live lobsters from local fishermen for $5.25-$9.00 a pound. Twelve foot tides change the scenery everyday. We plan to return again next year. Scott is helpful and knowledgeable of the area. He can share more ideas of what to see and do than what you can accomplish in one week."
