  • Perfect place to stay

"The house was comfortable and located in a beautiful, peaceful wooded setting. It had everything we needed, and was less than 20 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. I hope to stay there again in the future!"

  • Best spot in Bar Harbor

"I can't say enough good things about this house. This is our 5th VRBO and one of the best. Communication with Sean was easy, fast, and accurate. He's very helpful and knows a lot about the area. He always got back to me right away with any questions and checked in on us to be sure we had everything we needed. Location: AWESOME. Walking distance to all things! We walked to the grocery store, walked to breakfast, dinner, shopping. We could have walked to the shuttles, but we're sunrise people so didn't do that. Kitchen: Fully stocked and well kept. We didn't end up cooking much (so much to do!), but easily could have. Everything was very clean. It's a small thing, but I liked having water in the fridge door. We refill water bottles a lot, so that was very helpful. Sleeping: We were 4 people, two couples. My folks (in their 60's) had the master bedroom/bathroom upstairs and had plenty of space to spread out. We took the loft off the living room. The pictures don't do it justice. The bed is very comfortable, the room below had plenty of space for our stuff. The house is very quiet so we didn't hear each other. I was concerned about this a little since the master seating area overlooks the kitchen and our doors lead to the living room, but there was no issue at all. I also never heard the person on the first floor. I know they were there, but couldn't hear a thing. Hanging out: The kitchen table is big and a natural gathering place. The size of the kitchen makes this an easy thing to accommodate so we could be making breakfast and hanging out together. The sofas in the living room are very, very comfortable. The entryway was great for taking off rainy shoes and jackets before heading upstairs. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow for sitting on the deck, but it looked like a great spot! Only semi-downside is that there is only one parking space off-street. When we arrived on a Saturday night, there wasn't much street parking so our second car just blocked the driveway (after we parked in it). That was the only day we had any problem finding street parking right at the house. Not an issue, just something to know. If you're looking at staying in Bar Harbor with a few people, this is a great choice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • A wonderful gem!

"A lovely home in the heart of Bar Harbor. Very well appointed and comfortable. We were a party of seven across three generations and everyone had plenty of space. The location was perfect - a short walk to shops and restaurants plus a large grocery store right around the corner. Acadia is just a few minutes drive but there are easy hikes within walking distance. We traveled over thanksgiving and the weather was mild for the season but definitely chilly so we appreciated the central heating and cozy beds. Much of the area is closed for the season so we didn't get to enjoy some of the typical summer touristy things (whale watching and fishing) but there was still plenty to do. The owners were very helpful and responsive with our questions and had great recommendations for things to do. Overall a lovely part of the country. We'll be back!"

  • Very nice cottage with an amazing view

"We stayed at Briar Lodge for a week in June, 2016. The Lodge, which is a cottage that housed the staff for a large mansion that has was torn down years ago, is on the ocean in Bar Harbor. It is a very short walk to shops and restaurants. It was a perfect fit for our family, with two bedrooms and a main bath on the ground floor, a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining area and living space on the second floor. It is a great cottage - clean, nice views (especially with a coffee on the lawn in the morning watching the lobster boats) and right on the shore path. Wifi worked well, and the kitchen was well appointed. The gardens and lawn are pretty expansive, and the history of the property is very interesting. I don't believe that the cottage has air conditioning, which may be the only downside, though the weather was perfect during our stay. Finally, the cottage is a short walk to town, which was very convenient. We left the car at the cottage when we went out to restaurants at night, which was very helpful. Overall, it is a great cottage with a nice location and we will hopefully return again."
