  • Excellent place to stay if you want to be in town of Bar Harbor

"House well appointed - all appliances updated and updated bathrooms and kitchen. Can walk to some park trails. Easy walk to grocery store and health food store. Owner very helpful when contacted. Would stay there again. Overall very comfortable and convenient. We were two couples; no children."

  • Beauty near Bar Harbor

"This place was a fantastic home base for everything we planned to do on MDI. A gorgeous fall setting, and a quick drive to Bar Harbor. Got quick (and delicious) breakfast sandwiches at the general store in Birch Bay just a few minutes down the road, and used the kitchen for most of the rest of the meals. A slightly odd layout to the kitchen, but it was easy to adapt to and chalked up to the quirkiness of an old house. We all loved the sun porch, even though it was the coldest spot in the house... it had the best views of the beautiful fall foliage, and nothing a hot cup of coffee and wooly pair of socks couldn't fix. A second bathroom (for five women!!!) would have been nice, but the bathroom upstairs was quite spacious and the room outside between the rooms was a great gathering space as we all primped in the mornings and lingered in the evenings. Roland was quick to respond and help when we locked ourselves out, except not really because they were hiding in my pocket the whole time 😬. We didn't get a chance to meet, but I look forward to going back to Bar Harbor someday and staying here again. Traveler tip: don't miss the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain! Wear every piece of clothing as it's incredibly cold even in October. It's an unforgettable experience, and close enough to this house you can bust up there a bit before, stake out a good spot, have your breath taken away, and be back in time to warm up with a cup of coffee before frostbite sets in 😉"

  • Awesome!!!!

"Many thanks to the owners for letting us bring our furry kids, which truly increased the quality of our vacation. This was our first trip to Maine and we stayed both in Bar Harbor and Booth Bay. The description of the property and pictures provided actually did not give a completely accurate description, because it is MUCH BETTER!!! Literally downtown Bar Harbor is a step away, yet the adjacent property and foliage leave you feeling miles away from it all! My husband enjoyed many naps on the front porch in the mid-afternoon in this little town filled with Cruise activity. The living space is actually much larger than the photos might indicate. It was very clean and well maintained. Traveling with a special needs animal, who will find the dust, there was no dust to be found. The house was extremely clean and very welcoming :-) When I had a question and e-mailed the owners, I had a quick response! My husband and I often rent cottages while traveling and I have never felt so compelled to write a review, that is how much we loved it!! Clear instructions were sent to us on access, the owners were quick to respond, we loved the property, the location is amazing. Tips for those looking to enjoy Acadia as much as we did: Skip the Great Meadow Loop Trail. It is really just a walk around a golf course. Don't miss the hike around Jordan Pond or a trip to Cadillac Mountain. Jordan Pond is listed as a Moderate hike, but there is only a short bit of walking/climbing around rock formations. We passed many healthy 60-70 year olds enjoying it. If you can't hike to Cadillac Mountain, drive up and walk around the rock formations there, and walk a bit of a trail! If you are a moderate hiker, don't miss Great Head. Walk out onto Sand Beach and head left. Little more climbing on this one, but well worth the views!! For fast access, head south through Otter Creek and enter the park there. Park Loop Road is one way through much of the Park, and this makes for much quicker access to Jordan Pond, Cadillac Mountain, and the Stables. We plan on enjoying more of our National Parks in the future, but if you look to Bar Harbor, this is an awesome place to stay and we hope to be back!!"

  • Great house! Great location!

"We had a fantastic vacation. The house had everything we needed, and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to the many restaurants in town in about 10 minutes. The owners were great to work with. I hope to come back next year and would love to stay here again!"
