  • Perfect location for exploring the beauty of Acadia

"Our group (2 married couples) loved the location of the house. It was private and serene, but still located only 15 minutes away from Bar Harbor and Acadia. We enjoyed waking up and enjoying the woods from the screened-in porch (I saw a coyote wander by one morning and a flock of turkeys came to visit). The house was clean, comfortable, and the Roku allowed us to relax every evening watching our favorite shows. Ellen and Curt were very prompt and the whole rental process was stress-free."

  • Fabulous House!

"We loved this house, and would recommend it for so many reasons. My favorite spot was the deck off the kitchen. Wine in hand, we snacked and chatted there every night, watching the sun go down. It's the epitome of relaxation. We cooked for ourselves most nights, as our days were so full of hiking and sightseeing. The kitchen has everything you'd want. Five of us shared the house, but it's huge and never felt crowded. Lots of space downstairs for everyone to watch the game or whatever is on TV. We stayed for five nights - which was perfect. There are many things to do and see. The island is small, so it's a short drive to get anywhere, but we loved that the house felt remote. It's on the "quiet side" of the island. From the house, you can walk down to a little path that's part of the nature preserve, reaching the shore within 30 minutes at most. The shady trails looked like fairies could pop out at any moment. There are many other trails close by, and the beautiful Echo Lake is just minutes away. We enjoyed a lobster dinner at Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor, but my favorite meal was lobster rolls at Thurston's Lobster Pound down in Bernard at the tip of the western part of the island. Don't hesitate. This is a terrific place to stay."

  • HOME away from home!

"Rocco's Cottage was much nicer than it was shown on line! It was clean, convenient, well-appointed and a pleasure to live in for a relaxing week. All things Bar Harbor were within a short walk from the cottage and its "set back" location provided maximum privacy. I brought my two dogs and felt like they were the only two pets ever inside the house because it was so clean! Lisa and Rick are REAL folks with a common-sense, friendly New England approach to everyone and everything. They are a gentle presence if needed and invisible if not. I felt completely at home -TRULY at home in their cottage because they provided everything you could ever need or want while away from home. I will return to Rocko's cottage because this was one of my best vacations, EVER!"

  • Beautiful setting and home

"We could not have asked for more in a vacation home. The setting was perfect, the house was clean having everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the deck or on the bench overlooking the water. It is hard to describe in words how wonderful things were. We would definitely come back when we are in the area! Thanks Janice for the information on the area, it was most helpful."
