  • Beautiful House in Bar Harbor

"This place is right in Bar Harbor, just off the main street. It is quiet because it is a couple blocks from down town, but close enough we walked everywhere. The house is lovely, well kept and is completely furnished, especially the kitchen. Everything we needed was there. There was storage out back for our bikes and places to store our kayaks. The porch out back is in a garden setting and was an enjoyable place to sit and plan our days. Our host even provided some items for our granddaughter, making my daughters trip easier not having to bring the crib and other large items. Our host was lovely and provided lots of suggestions and advise whenever we asked. I will rent this house again when we go back, a week was not long enough time to spend in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Forest."

  • AWESOME HOME AWAY FROM HOME

"The pictures do not completely capture the beauty of this cottage! The grounds and cottage are meticulously maintained and so welcoming. We have been staying here since 2014 and look forward to catching up with the owners every year. It truly is a HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!! The property is close to downtown Bar Harbor and an Acadia National Park entrance. In fact there is a trail from the property to the park if one should choose that route. There is plenty of parking for guests and an overhang roof that protects a motorcycle or bikes if you bring them. It is so quiet and peaceful and there is lawn furniture to relax and listen to nature. You forget how close you are to the rest of the world. The cottage has 2 comfortable bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen (you will find anything you need) the bathroom comes with towels, blowdryer, soap and shampoo. They also have made a washer and dryer available should anyone need that. It is very clean and extremely well maintained not to mention uniquely decorated. The open concept of kitchen, dining and living room with large windows and skylights is delightful. Our dog loves to just look out the windows when she is not enjoying hiking in Acadia or exploring the property. The owners Philip and Astri are very friendly yet respectful of your privacy. They go beyond other owners we have encountered on our travels to Mount Desert/Acadia to ensure your stay at their property is satisfactory for you. They have many books to read, DVD's to watch and games to play. We have had family members visit and they still talk about what a great cottage and spot we had discovered. The only negative is when we pack up to leave. Last year our dog refused to get into the car once we had packed up so we were not the only ones sad to leave. Thank you so much Philip and Astri for sharing such a beautiful cottage with us. It is always a pleasure. Renee, Wayne and Rosie"

  • Mount Desert Island Marathon Base Camp

"We choose Eden House as a place to stay while walking the MDI Marathon. Kathy was very easy to communicate with either by email or text. When we arrived we were thrilled by the location, cleanliness, and the completeness of the accommodations. Everything for a great breakfast was waiting for us. After completing the Marathon and relaxing at Eden House we looked at each other and said five nights was not enough to enjoy Eden House and the surroundings and that we will return soon."

  • Best decision we made, was perfect!!!!

"We were more than pleased with choosing this beautiful home. We felt completely comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. There were 9 of us staying there and 2 family members who visited everyday. Angie and Chris have a beautiful home, it is very clean and well maintained. We cooked and/or grilled everyday, what fun with the family....The kids could play on the tree swings or just run around the yard, no worries. It was very easy access to all of the activities we like to do when we are in Bar Harbor, from going into Bar Harbor to shop, going to a water activity or going hiking. Some of our family hiked Gorham Mountain which is the view from the deck. Once they reached the top, they let us know, we couldn't see them for sure, but we reflected our I-Pad off the sun and they could see us, it was very exciting. We just love coming to Bar Harbor, now we know we have a home there, we can't wait for 2018. Thank you Angie and Chris for such a wonderful week. We will see you in two years... Kathy and family"
