  • Perfect spot to unwind

"Sibling vacation.. We're all 55+.. Wonderful, well appointed home! Hosts are exceptionally cordial and helpful and welcoming. Location is perfect.. The town can get crowded so we parked the car and walked everywhere in town. Shuttle to points all over the area! Minutes to Acadia Nat'l Park and all it has to offer. We were on our way further up the coast and were here for only three nights which happened to fit into the owners' rental schedule. Would love to come back and stay longer!! Most highly recommended!!"

  • Tops in Convenience

"I enjoyed my stay. The home was fairly close to downtown Bar Harbor (close enough where I always walked) and within a 1/2 mile or so of a full service supermarket. The rooms were roomy and the unit was clean and well equipped. They had guidebooks, some of which they wrote that were especially handy and useful. They even had a full two car garage with a washing machine that my miniature car fit comfortably into (the garage, not the washing machine). A few things to keep in mind. They warn you there are stairs. One enters through the garage and in the daytime and when only carrying a camera and the spooky house key, it isn't any big deal. However, they were a little steeper and the steps smaller than what I was used to. Also a bit tricky in the dark, although I eventually found the light switches behind the shelves in the living room by the door. Truly it wasn't a big deal, but hauling up a suitcase one needs to be careful. There is only one bathroom which was very handy when in the kitchen or downstairs, but it isn't on the same floor as the bedrooms. Bathroom was fine, clean, sized fine etc., but not close to the bed. There are two bedrooms, both upstairs, and their layout could be really ideal, or not so much, depending on your circumstances. They look like they were at one time one room where a wall was added (and a door). So for a couple with small children would probably find it ideal. However, for two couples it might lack enough privacy. One couple is going to have to walk through the bedroom of the other couple to use the "facilities" downstairs. I was by myself, so I found it to be fine. I only used the main bedroom and it was quite roomy and the bed was very comfortable. My comments are mostly quibbles. I enjoyed my stay and would certainly not hesitate to stay there again."

  • Perfect Location!

"If you're looking for a beautiful, spacious home just minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, you have found it. Nestled among the towering trees, the spacious deck with its fire pit, barbecue grill, and peekaboo glimpses of the water makes it difficult to leave. In fact, you'll find yourself looking forward to coming "home" after a day of exploring the island. We picked wild blueberries behind the house and made our way down to the shore during low tide. And, if you plan to prepare meals at home, this kitchen lacks nothing. The 3rd floor deck off the master bedroom provides another inviting space for morning coffee with its glimpses of the waters below. For travelers staying in the fall and winter months, I'm sure the views are amazing! We stayed in the very hot month of July and were thankful for the air conditioning in the master bedroom. Thank you, Bonnie, for sharing your treasure with us. Our family sure hopes to return one day!"

  • A Home Away From Home

"My son and I just spent a week at this wonderful cottage! Nancy was a pleasure to speak with ahead of time and nothing but welcoming and helpful during our visit. The cottage offered all of the comforts of home and was just a short drive to all daily excursions. This was a much better option than a hotel for us. All of the pictures and descriptions are 100% accurate. You won't be sorry staying here :) We hope to return to the area someday and will definitely stay here again!! Our suggestions for the area: Timber Tina's Great Maine Lumberjack Show, Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater, Acadia Park's Ranger programs, walk the sandbar to Bar Island, Sunrise at Cadillac Mountain, and so much more!"
