  • Lovely cottage, great location!

"My husband and I with our two boys (ages 15 and 13) stayed in this cottage for a week and loved it! None of us wanted to leave! The cottage is very clean, charming, and quaint. It is clear that the owners take pride in their home. We really appreciated their personalized binder (filled with helpful instructions and suggestions) and the many guide books they provided to enhance our vacation. We enjoyed restaurants they recommended, Cafe This Way and The Side Street Cafe, and when we didn't want to head out to eat we found the kitchen to be well-stocked with quality dishes, glassware, and cookware. One of my favorite spots in the cottage was the balcony off of the master bedroom. After a morning of hiking, I always found it to be such a relaxing spot. I almost felt like a kid in a tree house! The cottage is in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are just as friendly and nice as can be. From the cottage, it is just an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Additionally, the cottage is on the southern end of town making it is easy to get to multiple Acadia Park entrances to see some of the best sights the park has to offer (Cadillac Mountain, Great Head Trail, Thunder Hole, etc.). While writing this review, I think it is important to note that this is a very, charming old cottage, but please know that brings some characteristics with it. Not all of the floors are level and the staircase is narrow and not level too. While that only enhanced the charm for us, those with physical limitations might want to be informed ahead of time. We can't wait to return to this cottage and Bar Harbor! For us it truly was a wonderful place to be!"

  • Excellent home away from home

"DeeDee' house was great in every way! it has two bedroom, two baths (both bedrooms and one bath are upstairs, one bathroom downstairs, along with a kitchen, living room, and nice enclosed porch with table. DeeDee greeted us when we arrived and every day, either on our way out for the day or coming home. She is very knowledgeable about Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Most of all she was very friendly. The house is spotless, kitchen well equipped, living room has lots of reading materials (many about the area), washer and dryer great, beds very comfy. It was a perfect size for 2 couples travelling together. We walked to the Village Green, Bar Island, restaurants, shopping,, etc. Her house is close to everything. We usually prefer to go to different places for vacation, but we liked DeeDee' place, Bar Harbor, and ANP so much that we may come back. And, if we do, we'll surely stay here again!!"

  • Great stay at the Spindrift Cottage

"I needed to be in town for 3 nights with my son, his fiance and her parents to take care of some wedding preparations. Spindrift cottage was perfect for us! I stayed on the third floor which was new, beautiful and clean. The entire third floor is like a suite with a beautiful bathroom, a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a large living area with a sofa bed, a day bed and a table with 2 chairs (also a tv). It is decorated beautifully in the Baa Habaa style. The outside of the house is also beautiful. The 3 bedrooms and one bath on the second floor are beautiful and clean. The first floor with office/entrance came in very handy for the bride's dad when he had to get wok done and the adjacent kitchen was very adequate. We were missing a wine opener and some sponges upon a late night arrival but Sherry had them for me the next morning bright and early. There is a 6 seat dining room which is very nice and opens up to the living room which has 2 couches and a chair. There are plenty of books and games for kids of all ages and a cute little patio with a table and 4 chairs and a grill. The location is excellent! We walked into town every day. The location, the house and the attentive service were all great, I would definitely stay at the Spindrift Cottage again!"
