  • A delightful vacation

"We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our children, their spouses and our grandchildren at the farm in August. We enjoyed every aspect of our week vacation. The kitchen was well equipped. Beds comfortable. All the CDs available for the children early in the morning were appreciated especially by the adults. Our evenings spent on the back deck and our daily walks through the fields so enjoyable and the barn was wonderful for the little ones to ride bikes. Our entire family found many things to do away from the farm. A wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary and a very enjoyable week for the family. Thank you for sharing this lovely farm."

  • If you want PERFECT, then this your place.

"This was our second time staying at the FARMHOUSE. We stayed last year as a BABYMOON and this year as a " Help we are not on a BABYMOON." trip :) Everything was wonderful. The house is a mixture of country and city, and it really is the coziest and warmest place we have ever stayed. from the outdoor shower to the amazing kitchen. SO many pots and pans, wine and beer left in fridge for US. The amazing ping pong location in a barn with a swing overlooking pastures. We walked everyday to the local boat launch, our dog swimming and our 11 month old laughing. I walked to the island at low tied. We sat on the grass in the yard and napped. Being a jaded New Yorker I can say how lovely this place is. There is a farmstand down the street, Thomaston is 15 minutes away. Rockland 20. We went swimming in a lake in Camden and tried to find every ice cream location within 50 miles. The House sleeps IMO 4-6 . There is a downstairs room that we slept in with our child and an upstairs master suit with an amazing bathroom and shower that our friend stayed in. The living room is well appointed and looks like something from a NY loft. Cozy couch, gas stove, tv, dvd player, iPod dock. Grill outside. Laundry Machine. WHAT ELSE DO YOU FREAKING WANT? :) I've never stayed in a place that felt so much like home. TIPS: It's a quiet town and you have to drive about 10-15 minutes to get to Rt 1 but that is the point.. isn't it? The upstairs stairs are a bit steep but no problem for a child if supervision . there are 2 beds upstairs . There are many local shops and wonderful stores. A Walmart for emergencies 20 min away. There is an emergency VET 20 min away that we used when our dog ate an onion. :( You can walk and fish to the bay inlet in 10 minutes. You can jog on the dead end dirt road's 3 miles to the end and back. There is a lovely playground park names " Kevin's park" I think ... near the gas station and general store in CUSHING. a very choice spot with a picnic table and a lovely playground ... perfect for the kids.. If you do have younger kids I would bring a gate as there are 2 stairs up to the kitchen . no problem . we got a $20 dollar one at WALL MART. :) The owners are so kind and even mailed back a bib and clothes we forgot. They left a few of their wines and beers they make in Massachusetts... so tasty. so kind. We can't recommend this home enough. We hope to be back again very soon. -aaron, Brooklyn. ny"

  • Wonderful old Maine house with lots of room off the main highway but not on the water.

"Best part of this rental is the access to dock where we could keep our kayaks and access the water. Grandkids loved biking around the neighborhood, picking raspberries, and using the tennis court. Very friendly neighborhood with nice walks through the woods. Too bad that Homeaway/VRBO adds a 10% service fee AND home protection insurance fee to the cost."

  • Everyone had a great time

"We just returned from a family gathering at Blue View where my husband and I with our two sons and their families met to enjoy the long weekend. Our group of 3 couples and 5 children ages 7 to 10 moths all had a great time. The house is lovely with a separate living area so the baby could nap quietly while the noisy ones played inside and out. The outside areas were a hit with plenty of room to run and pick apples from the huge tree in the yard. The lobster dock was just 1 mile away and we got lobsters right off the boat. The outside lobster cooker was great to keep the smell and mess outside. There are many stairs, so anyone with disabilities would have trouble. Everything was well labeled in the kitchen and we moved a small table from the game room that served as a dining table for the kids. Very enjoyable time!"
