  • Beautiful and peaceful sanctuary in Maine

"I recently spent a week at the farmhouse. It was simply lovely- so peaceful and serene. The farmhouse is a treasure and is well equipped to house parties of 1-12 or more. The house is warm, welcoming, cozy, and well-kept. Each day, my two dogs and I ventured down to the water. The youngest enjoyed the romp through the mowed field, as it provided the perfect setting for some excellent frisbee time, which is his absolute favorite past-time. The view down by the water is quite breathtaking. One could easily spend hours down on the rocks. I found it difficult to leave the water each day. It beckons you. I saw lots of wild turkey, deer, and an abundance of birds during my stay. Spring was definitely in the air and was such a nice time to visit. The bugs have yet to arrive, it's still nice and cool, and the crowds haven't emerged upon the Maine coast. The house is a short drive from Thomaston, Rockland, and Owl's Neck, yet you feel as if you are in your own little magical world. The cute little towns of Port Clyde and Tenant's Harbor are each right down the road. Make sure to check out Marshall Point lighthouse too, a short drive away."

  • Perfect Maine

"We had the perfect vacation in June. My husband and I were looking for privacy, ocean front with unobstructed views, a modern comfortable home, and the ability to bring our dog. We were able to rest and relax, then go off and explore the areas such as Port Clyde, Rockland, and Camden. We saw lots of wildlife including the seal that liked to hang out near the cottage and watched the lobster boats every day. It was truly a perfect place to vacation. The photos tell it like it is. Great stay!"

  • Enchanting!

"This was our second year to spend a week in September at the Carousel. We will definitely want to return again and again. The house is beautifully located on a bluff overlooking the ocean with a deck that offers gorgeous views of the sunrise, the ocean with working lobster boats and, of course, the sound of surf pounding below. One special feature that we loved was the way the sun warms the deck in the morning so that even on chilly September morings it was comfortable to sit outside and enjoy coffee with the view. Inside, the house is well equipped for cooking and relaxing. We loved the comfortable living room with its many windows, making it possible to enjoy the view even on rainy or stormy days. There are two bedrooms downstairs, each with its own bathroom (beautifully rennovated) and a bed upstairs in the loft. The only problem I could find with the house is that a couple sleeping upstairs cannot access a bathroom without going through one of the downstairs bedrooms. If children are sleeping in the loft ths might be ok, but not for, say, a third couple. Otherwise, I would say the house is perfect. If you prefer to do something other than sit on the deck, there are lovely places to visit nearby - for example, the Marshall Point Lighthouse, the little village of Port Clyde, Drift-in Beach, the Lobster Lane Used Bookstore (unfortunately only open on weekends) and Monhegan Island which has a nice boat ride to get there and some wonderful hiking. The house and its surroundings are all a very special experience!"

  • wonderful vacation spot

"We all (10 of us ages 1 - 59) had a wonderful time, the house and yard were beautiful and we had plenty of room for nightly wiffle ball games!! We ventured to Camden for a Schooner Ride and Rockland to walk the breakwater, we bought lobsters a mile up the road (past the Olson House) at the docks from the lobstermen. The house has everything you need and is marked so you never have any questions and the apartment is a great addition for a large group. The views from the house and deck were breathtaking and the flower gardens are beautiful they along with the dock made for great photo ops. We spent a lot of time sitting on the beach, we brought 3 kayaks and a canoe and they were always being used, plus some fished off the dock too, it was definitely a vacation we will all remember and I would recommend this spot to anyone."
