  • A wonderful, peaceful getaway

"Our stay on Saturday Pond followed a week along the coast, and it was truly the best part of our vacation. Clean, spacious, comfortable, wonderful! Plenty of space for everyone, a lovely open kitchen/living room, a wonderful sun porch for reading and naps, spacious and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, a wonderful picnic/fire pit area, and a great dock and waterfront. Puzzles, games, all of the necessary water accessories -- we did not feel the need to go anywhere once we arrived. Eric and Hildi were very responsive to every communication we had with them. It truly was one of the most relaxing vacation weeks we have had in a very long time, and the best rental we have had. We would love to rent this house every year!! Thanks, Eric and Hildi!"

  • Beautiful home, amazing location and great owner

"I stayed at this home over Labor Day weekend 2015 with my wife, parents and two kids. The hose was perfect... including everything we needed for comfort and convenience. Big kitchen area, dinning area, comfortable beds, bedrooms separated perfectly and water views from every room. I was impressed by the quality, upkeep and updated feeling of the home. The home really stands apart due to it's amazing location on the lake. Located at the end of a small peninsula, you can't help but enjoy the water views at every turn. The exterior of the home is beautifully maintained and includes ample seating. We had local friends over for a BBQ one-time and 12 people comfortably enjoyed the evening... which was completed by a perfect sunset and fire in the lakeside fire pit. The dock area is perfect for swimming and we also enjoyed a nice canoe ride around the lake. This home is really all you could ask for in a lake retreat."

  • Perfect lake week!

"We just returned from our week at the lake with our two kids, age 7 and 4, their grandmother, and our dog. We had an amazing week! On top of perfect weather all week we enjoyed the wonderful sandy beach just steps from the porch and access to the dock to tie our small boat up to. There was plenty of space inside for everyone to be comfortable but we spend every little time inside aside from sleeping. The kitchen had everything we needed to eat almost all our meals in and the mattresses were very comfortable. We shared the beach with some family members on the weekends and they were welcoming and friendly. They even shared fluffer nutter sandwiches with my kids when they realized they had never tried fluff before! We enjoyed the big outdoor fireplace for smores as well. The only suggestion my husband had to make it perfect is an outdoor shower. Thank you for sharing your cabin!"

  • Wonderful home; Wonderful Location

"Sheila and Steve's home on Thompson Lake is wonderful. It is well equipped (linen, kitchen items, and other supplies) and can even accommodate a large family with young children on a rainy day (foosball, ping pong, board games, a extensive DVD library, and a hot tub)! The children love the bunk room which, as do two bedrooms for adults, has a great view of the lake. Lake access is suitable for youngsters, swimmers, and boaters. The home comes with a canoe and two kayaks which are great for exploring the lake. Shopping is a short drive. Thompson Lake is large (11 miles long) and deep (120 feet at deepest). There is little boat traffic. The water is clear. We know central Maine lakes, and we can attest that Thompson Lake is the finest. The home is quiet. It is located on the second of two islands connected to the mainland by two causeways."
