  • Unbelievable!

"We planned our annual girls trip to this Bailey Island home with seven women in our forties. The home was perfect. It was unbelievably clean, inviting and perfect for having a glass of wine, cooking breakfast and enjoying the beautiful weather in front of the fire. It was absolute perfection!"

  • Sweet sweet haven

"If you love nature and everything it offers, plus the best people around, this abode is the place to visit. We enjoyed the Giant Stairs and Potts Point, watched eagles, herons, seals, meteor showers, rock formations and so much more. We stayed in osprey's nest with above deck for excellent view. The cottage was charming and well stocked from books and binoculars to wonderful decor. We especially enjoyed peninsula map, original artwork, the deck and overall comfort. Vacationers who stayed on lower portion of cottage were wonderful people who shared both good conversation and showed us the the art of gathering periwinkles and how to prepare them. Also went on a lobster boat excursion with Captain Jay and learned about the lobster trapping industry along with the anatomy and biology of the lobster itself. We most definitely would come back if the opportunity should ever arise ! Cynthia Ivy"

  • Gorgeous house and scenary!

"The good: The house is beautiful and clean with wood beam designs throughout. Large kitchen, fully stocked. The scenery was amazing. The view from the house was awesome. Very secluded and private. Nice communal areas for the family to hang out. We rented our own kayaks and went out on the water often. Lots of stuff to do in the house including a pool table. The bad: The linen situation. You have to bring your own bed sheets and pillow cases. You can purchase them but it's annoying to have to arrive there and put the bed sheets on. Also, was only provided with ONE extra roll of toilet tissue and one extra trash bag for a 5 BR house for a week. You can pick up more at the management office but who wants to deal with that. For $3,000/week...the house should be stocked with that stuff. We ended up buying it ourselves. Also, there was no dishwashing detergent. Not deal breakers but annoying nevertheless. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably come back despite the annoyances. The family had a great time."

  • Great long-weekend getaway for two

"We loved staying at the Nezinscott Cottage and will definitely be back! George was a very attentive and personable host, making a fire in the stove for us before we arrived and advising us on the different restaurants nearby. But he was also unobtrusive - there is a lot of privacy at the cottage, which we appreciated. He let us stay a bit later on our departure day since there were no new guests arriving that day, which was a pleasant surprise. The main floor of the cottage is very nicely appointed - the kitchen has everything you could possibly want, and the living room is cozy with plenty of games and puzzles. Both rooms are nicely decorated. We especially appreciated the large amount of dry firewood kept in a room off the kitchen! We were there over Columbus Day weekend and kept the woodstove going pretty much nonstop. It rained one day and we were so glad we didn't need to rely on getting wet wood lit (the cottage is heated only by the woodstove). The upstairs is pretty rustic - not a lot of privacy if you're there with a bunch of people - but for the two of us it was perfect. The full-sized bed in the bedroom upstairs was so comfortable! My husband and I are used to a Tempurpedic at home so we're super picky about beds in places we stay, and we both slept soundly and comfortably every night here. The location is perfect - the photos honestly don't do it justice. The view from the Adirondack chairs on the deck was fantastic - we sat for hours in the sun watching the tide come in. On our last morning a group of turkeys came up the hill from the beach and went right past us. Bailey Island is very laid back while still having several restaurants to choose from - a couple of nights we dined in Brunswick which has lots of options. The binder full of restaurant info in the cottage was super-helpful - on our last night we ate at a German restaurant in Brunswick that we agreed was one of the best meals we've had in a long time!"
