  • a very comfortable old maine cottage with history.

"we had a very nice late September stay.the weather was sunny and warm during the day and the nights cool and pleasant.the fireplace made the evenings ever so enjoyable and cozy.the owners were very easy to work with and even supplied us a map of the area giving us tips on where to eat and things to see.they also gave us the history of the house which gave us even more found memories of our first but not last 'real'maine vacation."

  • Paradise

"My husband and I just got back from an incredibly wonderful week at Henry's Hideaway! Jack and Mary were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They really made us feel at home. Mary gave us a great suggestion for the perfect place to watch the sunset. Jack shared places we could kayak to for a great muffin and also to a dinner place. We had great conversations with both of them. They have been in the area for a long time and are happy to share their knowledge of the area with you. We loved being able to walk down the path to take our kayaks out on the cove. The cottage was very homey, comfortable and impeccably clean! It was more than big enough for the two of us. The full kitchen suited us well as we love to cook. Even though I had not expected it to be , the Murphy bed was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the deck reading , napping , watching the bald eagles, having a glass of wine. It was so peaceful. It's the most private place I've ever vacationed! We took full advantage of the great trails in Harpswell as well as all of the beautiful places to watch the sunset! We hope to stay for two weeks next year."

  • Fabulous find!,

"A mini family reunion united us from Florida, Colorado and Cape Cod for a wonderful week in this idyllic setting. The amenities of the cottage were beyond my expectations. Everything we needed was provided. The living and dining spaces were roomy and comfortable and the many bedrooms were a bonus. The view from the porch was just lovely, the bay and Cribstone Bridge. Other than the single bathroom, we could not have asked for more. We dined at The Sea Dog Brewery in Bath, Cook's Lobster and Ale House on Bailey Island, and Estes Lobster House nearby. Estes is our all time favorite and it has made many improvements to its outside dining since we last went there several years ago. We discovered Popham Beach in Bath, and agree it is the loveliest beach we have ever seen. And, of course, we shopped at Land's End Gift Shop on Bailey Island, a must for any visitor to the area. The weather cooperated and we could not have been a more relaxing week. We would love to make this an annual destination. Chuck and Mary Mott are extraordinary people and we enjoyed getting to know them and their pooch, Lucy. Thank you for your warm hospitality!"

  • Incredible house and property!!!

"I just spent a long weekend with 16 friends at this beautiful home, and I could not recommend it more. Both the house and property are spectacular and easily accommodated our large group. Even in subzero temperatures we couldn't resist getting out and exploring the island multiple times, to the carriage house and treehouse, to the tennis and basketball courts, all around the rocky shoreline, it is all such beautiful scenery and really feels like your own island. The house is amazing, super comfortable and large yet still cozy, with an impressive great room with fireplace and grand piano, huge kitchen that was a pleasure to cook in, the whole house well stocked and well decorated, and with incredible views out of every window. The multiple instruments were an added bonus and kept us going for hours. The property manager was extremely helpful and accommodating, prior to the trip and during our stay, via both email and phone, and really wanted to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. With the group we had, there was no doubt we were going to have a fun weekend, but this house and property made it something truly special. All of us were sorry to leave and look forward to coming back!"
