  • great for so many reasons!!

"This house was ideally located near to main drag back to route 1 yet definitely immersed in the beach houses near the beach! With a fantastic view of the wetland and a small walk to the ocean beach, this house served the adults and children well! The house is steps from the Rollover cafe which allowed us to grab an egg sandwich on the way to the beach because we needed protein to balance the morning intake of the famous congdons donuts found just up on Rt 1! Also, at the corner was the Arcade for the kids and even though it was off season, the little merry go round was plugged in outside and the two year old with us was thrilled! There is a public playground at the corner as well. We walked in the opposite direction one of our mornings both along the beach and the road for a wonderful panoramic view of wetland and ocean! The birds that you see and hear from this house are so beautiful and varied-the salt marsh/wetland the house is poised at guarantees that. I'm all about location and this place had it! When we needed things from route 1 like the Hannefords grocery store or restaurants, gas or more, they were right there! The house was great-a perfect Maine seasonal cottage, so nicely done with a big eat in kitchen room and a cozy living area and a perfect screened in porch. Again, we went just before season started so the rooms upstairs staying warm in the sun on slightly cooler days, made it so cozy for going to sleep at night. And during the night, cool ocean air provided by a good cross breeze because of well placed windows, walls open slightly at the top and great ceiling fans meant that we were well rested in the morning. For the nights when it's too cool, there are electric heat runs along the wall in each room. One thing that might be helpful to remember is that there is a nice shower, but no tub. We grilled dinner one night and another night we were too happy and exhausted from our fun beach day to bother to eat dinner before we passed out! A note about the area in case you don't know Wells: antique shops abound, the Rachel Carson conservation wetland is close to offer more salt marsh to admire in addition to the area the house sits on. And I love Ogunguit for day trips and meals which we easily got to do. Lastly, Jill was a FANTASTIC hostess and let us book completely last minute and flexed in a million ways to make the experience easy so that our short weekend felt like a long vacation! We even had a welcome note and bottle of wine waiting for us!"

  • Fantastic home and fantastic owner!

"Just returning from a fabulous week in this beautiful home on the beach. We are new to the "vacation rental" experience, and didn't know what to expect. The owner and his family were extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating, and the pictures of this home truly don't do it justice. Everything is brand new and construction throughout. We relaxed the moment we got there, and brought back such pleasant memories of the ocean sounds and smells. Thank you so much!"

  • Great Vacation Property

"This new, roomy and well-equipped house was located an easy walk to a spectacular, uncrowded beach. The openness of the main floor meant that whoever was working in the kitchen could still be part of the group. The high ceiling on the main floor and in the children's bedroom expanded the visual appeal. Appliances are modern and the home has the latest technology for tv and sound. There was a nice patio with BBQ and a porch. A special treat was the outdoor shower. The walk out basement provided good access to remove and store beach equipment in the wagon provided. A shed would be a nice addition. There is a ping pong table, a dart board and large screen tv in the basement. The washer and dryer are large and new. There were two bedrooms on the main with Queen beds. The second floor kids' room is really lovely; a cathedral ceiling, twin beds and a bunk bed and ample room for children to play in the middle with the castle stored in the cupboard. The other bedroom upstairs has a king bed. Bathrooms are modern. Much thought in design and equipping of the home as a vacation property is evident. I recommend this property as a family vacation destination."

  • Fabulous property, amazing location, wonderful own

"This property is a dream come true.Clean, updated, every convenience--and the location is amazing. There is a playground right across the street, which was AMAZING for the little kids. Excellent entertainment for morning diversions, so the other adults could sleep a little longer! A five minute walk to town, and perhaps 9 minutes to the ocean. Easy access to the marginal way, and Ken (the owner) was extremely responsive and flexible--he answers emails almost immediately (usually in less than an hour!) and is profoundly helpful and informative. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The outside space on the property is excellent, too! we ate most meals outside, and spent a great deal of time hanging in the yard, using the grills, etc. Absolutely perfect."
