  • 4 Times and Counting

"The family has rented this beautiful home the past two summers and the past two Thanksgivings. I guess you could say we are hooked on it. You will be too! There are no negatives! The price is very fair considering what you get. Great for grandparents, parents and grandchildren. Even the neighbor on both sides of the home are special people. The location is ideal...Cobb Island is a gem. The house is well maintained and very clean. It is beautifully decorated with a large front room / family room and a large screen porch to die for. It is close to the water and has a real nice beach, particularly for the kids. We highly recommend it. The pictures will give you a good idea of what I am talking about."

  • Wonderful time in a beautiful setting

"We rented Ransome's Chesapeake Retreat for a family reunion. We had 20 adults and 15 children, ages 22 months thru 15. Everyone had a great time. The setting was great. There was lots of land to explore, crabs to be caught, wildlife to see, ships to watch, a screened in porch to sit and catch up, and a pool. The Fun Center was great for the kids. They even put together their own talent show and held the event In the fun center. We did have some problems with the automatic pool vacuum, but the handyman, John answered our questions, stopped over, and got the pool repairman there first thing in the morning. Not many places have such a responsible and nice handyman. He was much appreciated. When planning a reunion with so many people, it is hard to find a place where everyone gets a bed. This was the perfect place. We all had a wonderful time in a beautiful setting. We would recommend this retreat for anyone planning a family reunion."

  • Lovely Cottage. Had a Great Time.

"My family and I had a delightful long weekend at this cottage in August 2016. Tall Timbers, the community where the cottage is located, is a charming 1920s-era collection of vintage vacation houses on the north bank of the Potomac. We found the cottage, the community and the neighbors to be wonderful. The house is as shown in the listing photos, and is right on the water. The property was clean, and all amenities and utilities functioned fine. Communication with the owners was excellent. My kids loved messing about in the water on the large inflatable raft provided. We adults were happy with the short drive to St. Mary's City (15 mins.) and Point Lookout, which has a great dog beach (30 mins.). There are two restaurants very close by (less than 5 mins. by car), and another about 10 mins. away. We fully intend to come back and are happy to recommend this cottage to anyone."

  • Beautiful, low key getaway!

"We booked last minute when we saw there was a cancellation over a holiday weekend. Lolly was super responsive and helpful, and the house was adorable, convenient, and just what we were looking for. Tall Timbers is made for families, and the little beach and kid-friendly marina restaurant were perfect for our toddler. We had a problem with the cable- which we only cared about because it was raining!- and Lolly called and helped us work if out. We never did get the Internet working, but we played outside and didn't mind since we were having so much fun as a family. The house has everything you need, the kitchen has all the extras, and the only thing we'd recommend is stopping for groceries on your way in."
