  • Better than the pictures!

"We were very impressed with the property for the price we paid. The pictures do not do it justice. The place was very spacious and clean. We had 7 adults and the accommodations were perfect for our group. Very close to area attractions and restaurants! Yes, the property is very close to a busy road, but from the inside or back of the house you didn't notice any noise. The hot tub and grill were nice bonuses as well. The only drawbacks were that the fire pit was very far away and a little treacherous to get to at night, and although we were warned in advance that there was no Internet, it would have been nice to have. Also, very strict rules for the cleanup of the house upon leaving despite paying a $150 cleaning fee. Would stay again!"

  • Garris Stay @ Bowles Unit

"The unit was very nice with only a couple of flaws. Emailed list to Reid Roberts on most on 7/6. These were minor points but warranted mentioning so we weren't accountable for pre-existing problems. Only a few other points came up after that email. Wives commented that a few more pots and pans would have been helpful, but we managed. Also, there are two raised nails on the deck; one near each of the doors, that should be re-set to avoid injury to barefoot or slippered visitors. It would have been helpful to know the State Park is the only place you can launch private watercraft. Two kayaks we took with us went unused because of the twenty minute drive to the park. No big deal. Despite rain eating up several days of our stay, we were very pleased with the accommodations. The Bowles' obviously take great pride in their property. With the exception of the items I emailed on 7/6, unit was very clean and well maintained. Would recommend the property to friends and relatives who don't care about direct access to the lake. Black Bear was great for "bar food", and Dutch's @ Silver Tree was one of the best meals we've had in ages. Everything was a bit pricier than other resort areas we've stayed over the past 10 years. This will heavily influence whether we vacation at Deep Creek again in the future. If we do, we are more likely to rent a property directly on the Lake."

  • A slice of Heaven....

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was everything we expected and more! It was close to the lake but, far enough away that it was so peaceful. The owners made cookies for us and they were delicious. My two boys, 9 & 6, had an amazing time. We loved the ponds, the pavilion, and fire pit to make Smore's. The house had games to play and DVD's that were appropriate for children to watch. We were really sad when it was time to leave. We will definitely plan another vacation to this cabin!"

  • True Gem

"We were so fortunate to find this place. Our 2 older boys were staying my family in a large house nearby, but we wanted our own space and this was perfect for my husband, our 2 yr old and myself. We loved the wood stove and the views of the lake..especially while it was snowing. We would like to bring our older boys here during the summer season, when we can really enjoy the lake, dock, grill, and front porch."
