  • A Labor Day to Remember - And A Great Way to End the Summer

"As you already know from the note we sent you, please sign us up for next Summer. We had an amazing visit. This was our eighth labor day visit to the Berkshires. Each year we travel around renting a new place, but this is it - we have found our Labor Day destination point. In fact, my husband and I would like to rent the place just for ourselves this Fall. Here is the biggest thank you - It is actually not the beautiful private dock view of Lake Garfield; it is actually not the image I have our kids racing thru the many paths of the on the property and picking blackberries; it is not the great old house; or how close the property is to just about everything in the Berkshires; and it is not the thorough welcome book that you provided us with so many great Berkshire vacation and activity tips. All of those things were great and yes, thank you! But the biggest thank you, what we really liked the most, were all the items you made available to us. At the last place we stayed, we had to rent our own boats. You not only had all these great boats, but you had a barn full of children activities and toys; you had just about every board game on earth is in the house; an amazing DVD collection; an ice cream maker; a gourmet blender; even a cuisinart! It takes a great deal of trust to leave so much for your renters. You could have easily just rented us a house, but you actually rented us a home. Thank you! By the way, I agree with your last commenter. Your property's sign-in book is beautiful, the stories and shared experiences that your renters voice through the years is amazing. Completely, agree with that person you should get those comments posted."

  • Summer Magic

"Going on vacation with 3 kids under the age of 6 can be tough- but this house made it possible to relax and have a great time. We'd swim while the babies took naps, play lawn games in the yard and then BBQ and make s'mores at night. They had a ton of movies for kids on hand as well as a good number of books, toys and game equipment in the basement. Here were our favorite activities if you have young ones: 1.) Head around the corner to Cantina 229 and have tacos outside and let the kids see the farm animals. 2.) Great Barrington: Have dinner (and play ping pong) at the Prairie Whale and then go to Soco Creamery for dessert. On Friday afternoons, you can take the kids to the Mount for free jazz (and running around) or just go to the Giggle Park playground in GB and let them dance around to the free jazz in the park there. 3.) Jacob's Pillow- the kids really liked the free inside/out performance 4.) The Hancock Shaker Village had a ton of activities for kids and is just a pretty setting to run around 5.) The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield had lots of interactive exhibits- including dinosaur costumes. If you need a rental with a little bit of separation (for two families, in-laws or sleeping babies)- this place is perfect!"

  • Wonderful stay, wonderful converted school house

"Just returned from a 4 night stay at this historic school house. What was most impressive was the amount of space in the kitchen/great room area. We were able to spread out our gear without feeling in any way cluttered. The loft was small but comfortable, and even in the midst of Summer the window and floor fan worked like a charm, keeping the whole house cool. While the arial view of the property makes it seem like the house is near to a busy road, it is, but we couldn't hear anything at night (and we are sticklers for wanting no traffic noise when we are away). A great stay and we will be back!"

  • Perfection! Can't wait for our 2nd Berkshire Visit!

"Wicketmoore cottage was the perfect getaway and the dreamiest of homes in the Berkshires. My boyfriend and I had the most romantic & relaxing time before the busy thanksgiving holiday. We cannot wait to come back for an extended period of time and enjoy every season. The cottage is nestled off a beautiful tree-lined street- quiet and peaceful. The property is gorgeous and so charming- the yard & garden on all sides of the house are well-kept (even at the beginning of winter months), expansive deck, the walkway from the garage to the house under the pergola w/ wisteria...AMAZING! The interior is breathtaking. I was excited the moment I saw the photos on VRBO, but to see it in person is even more fantastic. The downstairs is so cozy- expansive kitchen with the most well-equipped appliances. The perfect kitchen for entertaining and cooking. Beautiful light in all the rooms. Spotless and clean in every room. The upstairs is just as quaint & special. I loved every space. Max has managed to thoroughly update this family cottage while maintaining the feel of a rustic mountain cottage. Rustic and modern, minimal with eclectic decor, nostalgic and new... it all blends so perfectly. This architectural contrast of old and new is just so tastefully done that it deserves a comment. The owner, Max, was extremely accommodating and a pleasant surprise. We got the best local recommendations about where to hike, eat, drink coffee, sight-see, shop, buy groceries, ect. You can tell he takes pride in his cottage and wants it to be the best experience for every renter. This was by far the best of many vacations we have had in a rental home. We will return, maybe with friends or family next time. We would highly recommend Wicketmoore for its idyllic Berkshire setting, unique eclectic ambiance, and ease of doing business with the owner. It was PERFECT."
