  • Great house in a wonderful location!

"My family spent a weekend at the Sea Captain's cottage in June and were really pleased with it. The owner met us there, gave us a quick tour, and everything was as advertised. It is located on a wonderful property and very close to many things. My 3 young children, wife, and mother-in-law enjoyed it immensely."

  • A Beautiful spot!

"Whimsea is beautiful place! The views and especially the sunsets are spectacular! The decoration of the house is very tastefully done. The color scheme runs through everything, the linens, the accessories and the furniture. The little private beach on the Cove is perfect to cool off on a hot day and to enjoy the late afternoon sun . The house is very centrally located. All the beautiful beaches of the Cape are close by, downtown Orleans with some nice restaurants , shops and the bike trails are a short drive away. We had a great family reunion with our children here and have very fond memories of this wonderful house."

  • The ideal home for your summer vacation

"We have stayed at several homes in Orleans and Chatham over the past 10 years. We even owned our own home in Nantucket (for vacations). This home is one of the very best we have stayed in. High quality furnishings in a home that is well maintained by the owners. The location is one of it's great attributes: a short walk across the street to watch Cape Ball (and isn't summer about the beach and baseball?). I rode a bike to the beaches almost every day. Skaket (Cape Cod Bay), is 2.2 miles and the Ocean at Nauset Beach is 3.1 miles. One of the big values of the home is all the things they provide that most other rentals do not and they add up to a significant benefit: Linens for the beds, towels for showers and towels for the beach in great condition, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach toys, fully stocked kitchen (plates, plastic ware, utensils, everything we needed and more), DVDs...we used to load down a car to bring all the "stuff" we needed. Not so this year. Great TVs in the LR, Kitchen, Master BR and basement...great for a rainy day or keeping track of the Red Sox, the Tour de France or The British Open. The hot tub came in handy the first day that was a bit cool...they have it maintained and monitored each week. And the best ...a hammock that was great for peaceful reading or napping. A great big yard that is well maintained and great for a game of yard bocce. We had a full house of kids and adults and everyone had a great time and will be back next year. There are stairs for upper and lower bedrooms so it may not be ideal for those sensitive about very young kids. We had puzzles on the dining room table as well as the family room....Great big deck with big family size table and chairs, big grill, Can't think of anything that was missing, Ceiling fans and window air conditioners in many rooms to make sleeping on those very hot and humid evenings tolerable. One of the big assets of the home are the owners who were there to make sure everything was as good as it could be. We had a couple of items that went south and they were there to make sure they were repaired and fixed within hours - we didn't have to worry about anything. Thanks Jim."

  • Cozy and quiet for a relaxing vacation!

"We stayed for a week to attend our nephew's wedding in Orleans. The cabin was perfect! Very neat and clean, quiet surroundings, and lovely view of sailboats on Arey's Pond. There were 4 of us for the entire week, with 2 more coming later in the week. Plenty of bedrooms and eating areas! We all loved the rustic atmosphere and being surrounded by trees. In addition, it was close to our other relatives and easy to drive to Hyannis and Provincetown. Highly recommend for a family or couple who want to visit Cape Cod and environs. Very responsive and welcoming owners, too!"
