  • Luxurious Vacation Home

"This is a beautiful home. It is situated far enough from the road so that you hear no road noise, but close enough to the beach and "town" so that nothing is a far drive. Morning coffee on the deck while watching a multitude of beautiful birds was a treat. We even saw the hummingbird several times!!!! All rooms, furniture, appliances, etc. are in top notch condition. The master bathroom is unbelievably beautiful!!! The owners were thoughtful enough to leave plenty of space for your food in the pantry; empty, brand new refrigerator, and dressers in all bedrooms for your clothes, plus plenty of space and hangers in the closets - very accommodating. Orleans is a great town - plenty of shopping and restaurants. Short travel to Wellfleet for more restaurants and on to P-town for shopping and the sights! Beach was easy to get to and there was always adequate parking and space on the sand. The house also had umbrellas and beach chairs for our use - including a beach cart, which is nice not to have to schlep that with you! We were there during an unusually hot week, but the house has plenty of fans and AC units - it was always very comfortable. And, having rented many homes before in different places, it was a real treat having a nice big flat screen TV in the living room and the Master BR! Don't miss the sunset at Skaket Beach either - that was a great tip - Thank you especially to the owners, who couldn't offer enough assistance to insure that our vacation was great. It was, and this house is a gem. . . all of the comforts of home and more."

  • Exactly as described

"This house was well maintained. I was even pleasantly surprised with the linens, towels and furnishings. Place was clean and the foot print of the house larger than I expected given the pictures online. The responsiveness of the property manager Kirstin and detailed instructions throughout the whole process as well as instructions for use of items while there was impressive. Even while there I had two questions and she was very available and eager to help despite my not calling at ideal hours. In terms of my vacation, it was awesome. As the Cape always is! Having been going every year for the past 35+ years first as a child and now with my own children it only gets better. If you are new to the cape and rent this place you made the right choice with the rental and town. Orleans is right in the middle so day trips to upper and lower cape are easy plus you can get one beach pass for the week with skaket (perfect for toddlers) and nauset (adults and older kids -waves). My only recommendation is explore and pick your own restaurants. I have my own favorites, few of which were on their list probably because the are in neighboring towns!"

  • Older yet very clean and well maintained cottage with everything needed and an incredible view.

"We had a great and quiet weekend get away for our Anniversary. The cottage is just what we were looking for in a simple waterfront cottage with a nice fireplace for a very comfortable feel on a couple of cool October nights. It is a great location for short day trips to anywhere from Chatham to Provincetown. I am sure we will stay again."

  • upscale, luxurious cape cod living

"After many years of renting private homes on The Cape, then cottages at the Chatham Bars Inn, we have finally found the ultimate location for Cape Cod vacationing! My family and I have had the pleasure of experiencing Summer Salt on several occasions and no matter what the season, the surrounding views are stunning and the house remains pristine, and the epitome of luxury. Tucked away on a private pond, the home is located close to the main road so that downtown Orleans and Chatham Light are just a quick car ride away. It's a great place to rent with extended family or friends because of the spacious, well-appointed common areas. The kitchen is state-of-the-art and so much fun to use. The enormous island is perfect for setting up a huge breakfast buffet and works equally well for serving up seafood extravaganzas on nights we've stayed in after fishing trips. In the evenings there are plenty of cozy places for everyone to enjoy downtime: teens love the basement for ping-pong and movies; wine-drinkers recline on the deck enjoying moonlight on the pond; readers snuggle up in the den; and soon a pool will complete the gorgeous compound--we can't wait! Beds are extremely comfortable with top-of-the line linens. Bathrooms are all remodeled and no expense was spared. We've created so many wonderful memories at Summer Salt and we look forward to creating many more!"
