  • Restful, comfortable and a spectacular garden

"Our family vacations in Truro every year and this was our first year at 13 Pond Road. Just to be in an 18th century cottage is a treat, and our family of four loved it. The house was clean and well-supplied with linens, etc. and we loved visiting the garden, goldfish pond and sculptures. Roger and Marilyn were gracious and helpful hosts (flowers were waiting) and our kids looked forward to helping feed the goldfish. The wide hardwood floors were part of the rehab done, along with the addition of beams salvaged from fishing boats. I grew up spending summers in Chatham and to share the historic part of Cape Cod, along with a wonderful Bay beach, with my kids was a joy. We could walk or bike to the beach and the Salty Market and the Cape air was refreshing. Thank you Roger and Marilyn for creating a restful haven for us and we look forward to returning next year."

  • Delightful getaway

"My husband and I and our son and his wife and their 5-month-old child spent a wonderful week in mid-September at this beautiful, secluded house. The house is well-equipped and very comfortably accommodated our two families. The sunny living room and lovely deck were delightful; we especially have fond memories of dinner on the deck watching the sun go down and the evening sky over the bay. Provincetown, Wellfleet, beautiful beaches and short hikes are an easy drive away. We could happily make this an annual retreat."

  • Great Family House

"Our family has been coming to Truro for almost 20 years, and this is the first time that we have rented Liz's house. It has been a great experience. The house is charming and comfortable, and Liz has provided virtually everything we need for the beach, for cooking and for hanging out. The historic house is really well maintained with lovely decor and comfortable furniture. There are two living rooms, which allowed us to spend time on our own without interfering with one another when we wanted space. I have stayed in antique houses that are charming but musty. Nothing musty here. It is light and open throughout. Access to the beaches is easy, and it is a very short walk into Truro Center. The grocery store there is small and not cheap, but it has very nice products to offer. I highly recommend this house, and I fully intend to rent here again."

  • Classic Outer Cape, a magical place.

"My in laws and my brother in law's family were extremely comfortable here with two little ones (4 and 6 mo) in tow as they visited my husband and me from far away. Our only regret was that we did not stay longer. The house is clearly the work of many years of rest and fun on the cape. Beautiful, artistic touches in the design and furnishings and a simple back in time experience (this is not the place for those who don't appreciate "simple" or "back in time"- fortunately we all very much do!). The breezes flow rapidly through the living areas, making you feel integrated with the woods outside. The porch is huge and the view beautiful. People can spread out and disappear or join each other in the cheerful living room. Great books on Cape Cod lore to browse and a thoughtful introduction in the house folder. This home was exactly was we hoped for- more actually. It gave a sense of being tucked away from the hustle and bustle in the quiet nature and artistic communion of the Outer Cape. A gorgeous beach is down the road, and plenty of good food (fish markets, drives to PB Boulangerie, the Bookstore, Napi's). Provincetown is close enough to be very convenient as well. What a special place. We were all sad to leave- perhaps four year old Millie being saddest. After whale watching and listening to whale songs, beach and romping on the fun orange pillow-chair, and eating ice cream in bustling Provincetown, she wasn't at all ready to head back to Texas. Thank you for sharing your cherished family home with us for the weekend. We felt like it was ours too- what a treat. Tip- bring a travel crib or pack n play for small babies. We were glad we did. And check pollen levels when planning your stay- the entire Cape was abloom! Although we didn't care one bit. I highly recommend this place as long as you don't nudge me out of a chance to stay again!"
