  • Serenity on the Seashore

"I stayed with my husband and 3 adult children - we needed a place to get away, after a rather trying year. This was the perfect place to be - quiet, with the sounds of nature all around. Clean, comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, which is just what we wanted, as we love to cook. There is no TV, which was wonderful - we read, played games, worked on jigsaw puzzles when we were not on the beach. We enjoyed visiting Provincetown several times, and were also glad not to be staying in that hustle and bustle. We also enjoyed a whale watch - would highly recommend booking one while you are here! The beach was so wonderfully quiet - 77 steps down, it was a huge expanse of pristine sand and water. We saw seals playing in the waters often, and some gorgeous sailing ships. I also found Astrid to be very responsive. One of my sons has mild cerebral palsy, and was having a problem moving the kitchen chairs because of the friction of the rubber on the feet. I had written suggesting the felt pads - and Grandma Jackie brought them the next day. We put them on to the rubber feet, and problem solved! We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!"

  • Restful, comfortable and a spectacular garden

"Our family vacations in Truro every year and this was our first year at 13 Pond Road. Just to be in an 18th century cottage is a treat, and our family of four loved it. The house was clean and well-supplied with linens, etc. and we loved visiting the garden, goldfish pond and sculptures. Roger and Marilyn were gracious and helpful hosts (flowers were waiting) and our kids looked forward to helping feed the goldfish. The wide hardwood floors were part of the rehab done, along with the addition of beams salvaged from fishing boats. I grew up spending summers in Chatham and to share the historic part of Cape Cod, along with a wonderful Bay beach, with my kids was a joy. We could walk or bike to the beach and the Salty Market and the Cape air was refreshing. Thank you Roger and Marilyn for creating a restful haven for us and we look forward to returning next year."

  • So many birds singing!

"We loved this place. It is very clean and well appointed, and very quiet - so quiet, you can hear the waves breaking on the shore. The owner is great - I sent her an email just to let her know that the toaster wasn't working well, for the next tenant - and then -- she sent someone over to bring us a new one! It was perfect. Thanks!"

  • Comfortable and cosy cottage

"Compact, cosy cottage, fully equipped for two. Clean and tidy. Always received a speedy reply from the owner to any queries. We would recommend. We didn't have a car, but good bus service. Access to bicycles locally would have been handy."
