  • Great location

"Our large family enjoyed the location and proximity of this house to our favorite Orleans beaches, the rail trail and bakeries. The marsh was perfect to kayak down to the beach. The house accommodated all of us comfortably."

  • Perfect Vacation

"What a delightful time we had at Mac's Shack this last month! Private beach and patio. Comfortable beds. Large kitchen. Incredible outdoor shower. The local property manager stopped by to introduce himself. I've rented a lot of vacation homes and that was a first. Our three adult children came to visit and we had plenty of space for everyone. For fun and adventure, we rode bikes to Chatham, visited Centerville and Sandy Neck beaches, dined in Hyannis and Provincetown, took in several Cape Cod Baseball League games, ferried to the Vineyard, and traveled to see the 4th of July fireworks in Boston (a bucket list item). Bottom line: This is a marvelous rental for a Cape Cod vacation."

  • A week by the beach

"What a cute little apartment by the beach! We are a family of 4, kids are 3 and 4 and we couldn't have asked for a nicer vacation near the seashore. Located right in the National Seashore, a quick 5-10 minute walk to coast guard beach, this is a really cute place to stay while you enjoy Cape Cod. The cottage style apartment is equipped with everything you need to feel right at home on vacation. Everything from kitchen utensils, to coffee maker, to appliances. We definitely needed and used the washer dryer on this trip! The owners went out of their way to be welcoming and make sure we had everything. We could walk to the beach to watch the seals and jump in the waves. It's also a quick drive to the bay side to enjoy First Encounter Beach which was perfect for little kids during low tide. The Nauset lighthouse is about a mile away which made for a great morning run and also a fun family excursion to the top. (Tours in the late afternoon- check the schedule.) Arnold's was a classic takeaway place with mini golf and great fried food. Close by. The chocolate cafe is also close and has a purple truck that comes to the beaches and has the best ice cream sandwiches. Not to be missed. If you're hikers, I'd recommend the Marconi swamp trail which has boardwalks and an easy trail for little kids. Really an ideal location, sweet beach house and warm welcoming hosts."

  • Wonderful cottage by the water

"The cottage was immaculate and very charming. It fit our family of five (2 adults, 3 toddlers) great with all the amenities we could ask for. The outdoor shower served a great purpose when we walked back from the beach and needed to rinse off. The location was ideal for us because it was a stone's throw away from the Martha's Vineyard ferry. It also was central for us to take our day trip once to Salem, and the next day to Provincetown. The distance not too far from either location. We would definitely choose to stay here again next summer."
