  • Madaket Serenity

"I've been going Nantucket for over 30 years and have stayed many different places throughout the island. The natural beauty of Madaket is unmatched and The Scallop is right in the middle of it. The house is perfect for taking in all that Madaket and Smith's Point has to offer. The views and proximity to the beach and ocean are perfect. Beautiful surroundings and peaceful with the best sunrises and sunsets anywhere. We found the house well equipment and very clean. I look forward to returning there again on future trips to the island. The Scallop will be my first choice for beauty and serenity on Nantucket!"

  • Made our first trip to Nantucket spectacular!!!

"This was our first trip to Nantucket and we are soooo happy that we chose to stay at Tucked Away! The owners are very nice, responsive, and easy to work with. The house was spectacular and VERY clean and spacious. They provided all of the essentials...an abundance of towels, beach towels, and blankets. The kitchen had everthying we needed and more. There were lots of fun board games for the kids and dvds to choose from. The outdoor building with beach chairs, cooler, and sand toys were a great bonus along with the outdoor shower. The kids loved every inch of this house and it was so nicely decorated with a nice Nantucket beachy theme. The deck was nice and spacious and we ate many meals out there. We also received a very thoughtful, fun welcome gift on the kitchen counter! :) Madaket Beach is right down the road and the sunsets there are spectacular. We also enjoyed eating dinner and ice cream at Millie's which is right down the road too. The bike trail is at the end of the street and was very enjoyable! We would absolutely stay here again! You won't regret booking this house!"

  • Cottage was just as described.

"Both David and the local caretaker were very responsive and helpful with information to help navigate our off season rental. The 1957 Hiuse was at he perfect island cottage for our family to relax and unwind in a quiet Nantucket setting. Thanks again!"

  • Nice and quiet

"My family of 5 stayed here for 2 weeks. It was incredibly comfortable and functional. The property owner, Peteris was incredibly accommodating and helpful as well as easy to reach. It's close to madaket beach which is one of my favorite beaches on the island. We stayed in sultry August but even without air conditioning it was beautiful of a night thanks to its position on the island so close to the beach. The neighbors on either side are year-round residents and were super friendly- we have now made friends and keep in touch. It's not a fancy, or particularly high end place to stay but when you have 3 young kids, you wouldn't be able to relax worrying about your kids pushing over and breaking expensive furniture and decor. It has everything you need to enjoy your vacation in a quiet and relaxing off the main road sand lane. We cannot wait to go back!"
