  • Perfect getaway!

"We had a family reunion with ages ranging from 3 mo to 81 yrs! Everyone had a great time and when the day guests left, we were left with a peaceful retreat for the rest of the week! We enjoyed biking, swimming, fishing, walking, exploring, and of course enjoying local cuisine! The house is great with all the amenities you will need; though still retains the old Plum Island charm ( that I remembered from when my grandmother had a cottage here in the 60's and 70's )..... The hosts were great and let us stay late on our day of departure because no one was scheduled to move in!! I would highly recommend this gem and do plan to return!!"

  • Comfortable, clean and convenient family house

"We try to spend a week on Plum Island every summer to be close to my parents, who live in Newburyport and have a beach vacation at the same time. This was by far the family's favorite of all our rentals! With 3 adult children and a couple of their friends, we have decided that 2 bathrooms is a must, and the outdoor shower was a delightful added bonus. This year, my extended family was all in town for a family celebration and we were able to have several big family gatherings at the house. The kitchen is spacious, extremely well equipped, a pleasure to cook in and perfect for a big family. I loved having the family gather around the breakfast bar and nibble on appetizers as I prepared the meal. There are plenty of options for everyone to sit and eat or relax; there is a big table on the deck with a view of the harbor and for those who prefer, the screened in front porch is another perfect gathering place with its deep, comfy wicker furniture. The upper deck is great for watching sunsets or having morning coffee. This house truly does sleep 8 adults. All the beds are really comfortable, even the trundle bed in the 4th room, (which my full-grown son really appreciated after being stuck in a bunk bed or a rickety pull-out couch in other houses). Arlene was a pleasure to work with, responsive and accommodating. We also appreciated all the little extras Arlene adds to make sure her guests are comfortable such as candles, soap and even shampoo in the bathrooms, plenty of towels and nice linens, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen including supplies of paper goods, coffee and condiments. The outside grill is huge and works well and there is even beach gear; chairs, umbrellas and bags for your convenience. The only negative about this house was that we had to leave! We can't wait to come back!"

  • Wonderfully peaceful and charming

"My husband and I lived on Plum Island over 20 years ago on the beach side. We come back form time to time, and this time brought my 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend. This sweet house offered something for everybody; beautiful rooftop deck for me, kayaks and bikes for the kids, and close proximity to EVERY food and beverage place for my husband:) I enjoyed this side of the Island-less hectic, beautiful scenery. Very nice neighbors on this street as well, and a great 3 season porch. Thanks John and Vanessa-we will be back!"
