  • Wonderful Relaxing Weekend.

"Our stay at River View was really lovely. Cottage is well decorated, very clean and peaceful. We loved walking to the beaches and around the Tidal Basin. The front deck was perfect for watching birds in the salt marsh in the morning and spectacular sunsets over the river in the evening. And the cool ocean breeze during the night was divine. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend and highly recommend this cottage!"

  • Perfect for Two

"We stayed here over Christmas so we could walk on the beaches and trails in the Parker River Refuge. The cottage is heated by a small gas stove and an auxiliary heater. Despite cold and windy days, after a couple of hours it was cozy. Everything is modern and very clean. The kitchen is well outfitted. One of the friendly owners greeted us and showed us around. There was a basket of fruit and yogurt in the fridge, coffee, and a bottle of wine. This cottage could handle four people, but the dining table is a little small, and the furniture was limited. There is wifi, but it was not quite working during our stay. We did not care... . We wanted a quiet holiday; reading, listening to music, minutes from the great seashore and this did the trick."

  • Breathtaking Natural Beauty

"Maria was a wonderful host. She greeted us warmly when we arrived--six of us, my 95 year old parents, my sister and her daughter, my wife and myself. The house itself is charming: warm and inviting, with three distinctly furnished bedrooms, and a sleeping area in the open living room-dining room area which comfortably accommodated my parents who, alas, can no longer climb stairs. The glass doors open onto a deck which overlooks the marshland and inlet from which we launched the house canoe. We spent hours following the adventures of the snow egrets, gulls, and swallows. For my money, this side of the island is even more beautiful and compelling than the ocean across the street! With Mad Martha's Cafe two blocks away, your morning coffee needs are easily met but the well-stocked kitchen has everything you need to be your own chef. Oh and did I mention the delightful lily pond and garden at the front of house? A great place to meditate, and if necessary, to find respite (should you need it) from the gorgeous sunsets on the other side of the house. We'd return here in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for everything, Maria."

  • Great Place to Stay!

"The cottage was set up exactly, if not better than described. Plenty of in-cottage amenities made for less for my family to pack. I didn't remember seeing a washer and dryer on the listing, but there was both which was very helpful. The cottage also featured a gas grill where the listing led me to believe it was charcoal. I love charcoal grilling, but for efficiency purposes it was nicer having the gas grill. Overall, it was a great location, a great place to vacation, and my family and I look forward to staying at this cottage again."
