  • Northern MI summer at its finest!

"Our group of two couples and four young children recently stayed at this property for our annual summer lake house vacation. It was wonderful, and we made so many great memories. The property manager Jeff, was excellent to work with. I can't say enough good things about his polite communications, responsiveness, and general assistance before, during and after our stay. I've summarized our favorite and not-so-favorite (only a few!) aspects of the property below. Favorites: -Clean and well maintained -Screened-in porch -View of the lake and attractive property -Sunset views -Access to inland waterway (we moored a large tri-toon boat to the buoy and were on the water daily) -Loons -Peaceful yet convenient location -Spacious kitchen, closets, rooms, etc. -Nicely appointed -Walk-in closets are large enough to fit a pack-n-play! Not-So-Favorites: -Wi-fi was bad. Reception was constantly in and out mostly useless. We didn't care and weren't relying on it, but it could be problematic for some. -Musty/mildew smell. This was the biggest drawback and I really hope the owners remedy the situation. Our entire group noticed it, but I have a sensitive nose so it drove me a bit nuts. There is no AC, and being a lake house, it really needs a dehumidifier or something to help dry the air in the summer. The musty smell was alleviated a bit by opening windows, but returned quickly whenever they were closed. It was especially bad in the master bedroom, likely because of the bathroom humidity. We ran all the fans, etc - but it still smelled. Towels that had sat in cabinets and dishrags smelled mildewy, and even our clothes when we brought them home, smelled musty. It's the only thing that would make me hesitate slightly when considering a return to the property. -Two sets of bunk beds, but only one ladder, and they are not the type of beds that are easily climbed without a ladder. And, only one top bunk has a child rail on the side to keep kids from falling off, which seemed odd, since bunk rooms usually go to kids. Overall, it's a fantastic place and I would highly recommend, provided the owners address the musty smell."

  • We had a very relaxing week!

"We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It sleeps plenty of people which was needed for our group. We had 4 adults, two small children, and two teenagers and were able to sleep comfortably. Mike and Dee provided everything we needed and were extremely nice. We even forgot a couple items and they went out of their way to provide them for us. They live across the street so they were accessible for questions and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. We had the ability to use a fishing boat which was amazing. Fishing was something we have not done in years and it was fun taking our three year old fishing for the first time. The amenities were great. We had access to kayaks, grills, etc. I was a little concerned about lake access with my three year old. They have a ramp entrance that is used for the boats which provided access into the water. They also have access into the water from the dock. We spent the majority of our time at the lake on the dock (large area for sunbathing and relaxing) and used the step entrance into the water. The water off the dock was slightly too deep for our three year old but he had fun on rafts as he can't quite swim on his own yet. The water is crystal clear. The only thing that we wished we brought was a sun umbrella for the dock for the times in which we didn't want to be in the sun. This cabin has two additions so the layout is unique, featuring two living spaces/kitchens. When we were inside we spent the majority of our time in the newer kitchen that looks out to the lake. We basically used the front living space/old kitchen as a bedroom/hang out for the teenagers. The only "wish list" item is to have a TV in the new kitchen/living room area and maybe some more couch seating. I think a sectional would be great in that area. There isn't air conditioning but it cools down at night so it doesn't get too hot. Putting fans (provided) in the windows helped moved air throughout the house. We had a pretty hot week and we managed to stay comfortable. Thank you Mike and Dee for letting us enjoy your cabin!"

  • Great place for the price!

"Nice little cottage with great lake frontage. Nice dock and yard. Neighbors are very friendly. Less than a 10 minute drive from town (Indian River). Paula's and Christopher's have excellent breakfasts and Vivio's was great for dinner (get there early as it's a popular place). Mackinaw and Gaylord are only a 30 minute drive in either direction. Would recommend for couples or a small family and those who travel with pets."

  • Love this place!

"This home is great for our large family vacation. This listing description is accurate and thorough. The house and yard were very clean and updates had been made since our last visit. Jeff is conscientious about checking in to make sure our stay is going well. This was our third year staying here and we already have it reserved for next year. We have found our perfect summer vacation destination."
