  • Excellent rental!

"3 retired adults spent a wonderful week in the house on the creek. The location is wonderful if you like secluded (we do). As advertised, it is in the woods on a creek. We all took lots of bug spray and did not need it. We sat on the deck/balcony every morning drinking coffee and had dinner there every night. However, around 8:30, we did move indoors because one of us felt a mosquito. Not bad!!!!! The kitchen is superb for at least two cooks. There is plenty of room and every utensil one would need. However, we finally managed to find one missing utensil….a potato masher to smash some wonderful fingerling potatoes we bought at a farm stand. As you can tell, if that is the only utensil not available….it is a very very well stocked kitchen. There is an adequate collection of seasonings. There was a large collection of dishes, glasses, and flatware. Water pressure and amount of hot water was excellent. Bathrooms were comfortable and showers were powerful. Tubs were comfortable. Beds were comfortable. We did not use the lower level (except for the excellent washer/dryer), but did see that it was cooler than the rest of the house. That may be an issue for someone who wanted to be there. Internet was more than adequate. Cell phone coverage was spotty (I found a spot on the porch to make calls using Verizon). In the area, our iPhone (Verizon) GPS often did not keep up with where we were. We found that Toms in Traverse City had adequate grocery supplies. The local farm stands were great for produce. Anderson’s in Glen Arbor was pricier than Toms. The house is rather open so sound does carry. There were barking dogs that barked a long time before their owners brought them in. At least it ended by 8 p.m. or thereabouts. That was somewhat annoying, but we were quite a distance from them. However, when we were out walking on the road, it was very annoying. In sum, it was an excellent rental (I have rented well over 50 properties through VRBO and am pretty picky). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to a friend to rent."

  • Such a relaxing cottage!

"We had a great time with our quick stay at the cottage! It has to be one of the most relaxing places we have ever been. The lake is gorgeous and the sound of the water is so peaceful. The home is so charming and clean! They make great use of the small space and everything you could need is there. It truly does feel like home when you are there. The drive to Leland and Glen Arbor was so beautiful and so close to the house. We would recommend this cottage without hesitation to anyone looking to get away and have some R&R with friends or family."

  • Excellent stay in clean and comfortable lakeside cottage

"Just returned from a three night stay at this lakeside cottage. We found Cottage #2 to be exceptionally clean and comfortable. Fully furnished with more than we needed! Comfortable queen bed, other bedroom had bunk beds. We took advantage of the firepit, right on the west shore of Lime Lake. We also brought a trolling motor and took the Lund aluminum boat out for a "sunset cruise". We saw a bald eagle while we were on the water! *bonus* This is a great place to stay while exploring the Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore, Glen Arbor, Leland, and the surrounding areas. It is a place we would love to return to if we are ever in the area. Thank you for providing such a lovely cottage."

  • Quiet Vintage Cabin

"We stayed in the house for a week in late July. We picked it for it's A-frame architecture, hoping for a mid-century gem. It totally was. The pics don't do the house justice. It has some nice touches and cool things happening. House was perfect size beds and baths and decks to the outside were all on point. The private beach and wooded view to Big Glen off the back deck was unbeatable. We certainly had some fires burning on beach at sunset. Really enjoyed our stay and would for sure come back if we return to Big Glen."
