  • Corporate Retreat Off Season

"The house was as described and really had all the essentials tools needed. WIFI worked great for 8 users with laptops and mobile devices. Kitchen was well stocked and Jorge was flexible with arrival/departure times due to off-season. Would recommend to all."

  • A Great Cousins Reunion -- Then a Frustration

"As vacation rental owners ourselves, we are very aware of the incredible effort it takes to keep a home well furnished, clean and in good repair. This home hits all the marks in many ways: It is roomy and nicely furnished. We all remarked on the very nice artwork throughout the house. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is large and very well appointed -- there were even wineglasses and good knives! The beautiful deck has lots of comfortable dining and relaxing choices. We had deer in the back yard every morning while we enjoyed our coffee. It is very, very clean and, aside from a few small maintenance issues which were quickly addressed, in good repair. It's a short walk to the beach, and close to lots of good places to eat, wineries, and other attractions. The owner, Kathleen, was friendly and attentive in the rental process and while we were there. As an owner, I am probably pickier than some -- but here are a few "cons": When we arrived there was someone else's wilted leftover salad, uncovered in the serving bowl, still in the refrigerator. Not awful, but still a little gross -- and we wondered if the refrigerator had been wiped out before our arrival. The first two nights we were there, there were no lightbulbs in the light fixtures on the front of the house. It was a real safety issue. That being said, when we expressed our concern to Kathleen she had it fixed the same day. Several of the lamps and light fixtures were also missing bulbs. We could not get the gas fireplace to work when we first arrived. Kathleen came quickly the next morning and had a repairman there within minutes. There are no towel bars in 2 of the bathrooms. One of the sofas shown in the photos here is no longer in the living room. Not a big deal, but it would've been nice for our group of 7 to have had a few more places to "sit soft." My biggest issue came after our rental. Kathleen was extremely slow in returning our deposit. She even suggested that we might be liable for damages we did not create -- issues that were existing when we arrived. As vrbo owners we are VERY conscientious renters, so it was a bit offensive to be unjustly accused. We were planning a return visit with other friends to explore wineries, but are now not as likely to return. My advice? Stay here, enjoy the beautiful home, but document the condition upon arrival and departure. And be prepared to wait for your refund."

  • Wonderful family vacation

"We chose this home for the convenience of being close to all that Union Pier and New Buffalo have to offer, yet we wanted a home that was surrounded by nature. Sequoia was a great home, and it had plenty of space for our family of 4. We loved being able to enjoy the community pool, and also relax around a fire in the back yard. It was close to the beaches and also about a 5 minute drive from Round Barn Winery. Waya Rentals was very helpful with finding a great home, was very knowledgeable about the area, and were very helpful to us in planning our vacation. We will be back again! Thank you!!!"

  • Lasting Summer Memories

"Our family had a wonderful time staying at the cottage in Union Pier. The house is clean and has everything you need. We appreciate the nice little touches that provided a welcoming and awesome guest experience. i.e. local sightseeing information, a new kitchen sponge, the use of beach towels and umbrella, wagon and the yummy basket of muffins, etc. The property is large and we had a couple of BBQ dinners outside on the picnic bench. There is also a screened-in gazebo. Our dogs especially loved exploring the grounds and that it was fenced. The owners on the property are lovely and friendly. Thank you for your hospitality."
