  • Wonderful Retreat!

"Our family of five (children 17, 20, 21) enjoyed a wonderful week at this cabin. The accommodations were exactly as described, which were perfect for our needs and the owners were pleasant and and very accommodating. The water pressure was excellent which was surprising given the cabin was built so long ago. We loved it's layout and really enjoyed the front porch overlooking the lake. We felt like we were at a mini resort with all the lakeside amenities and the lake itself is beautiful and quiet. We made frequent boat trips on the chain, but always enjoyed the peacefulness of returning to our quaint get-away. We saw countless eagles and deer while we enjoyed the spacious dock. It was nice to sit down there at night and see the stars so vividly. Kate was so kind in mailing my husband's hat he left behind. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again!! Thank you so much!!!"

  • Great time at the lake house

"We enjoyed it all, the view, the clean water, the private grounds, the fully equipped house. Everything was as stated in the ad. Big kitchen, with all needed items, clean and comfy beds, large living area with view of lake. The boats and kayak provided were a good way to tour the clear lake. The fish also were willing to bite, my family enjoyed them also .Crosslake provided many things to do, nice shops, good food places, and a nice supermarket. We grilled, fried fish and cooked inside, also had a bonfire and made smores. What a awesome time at an awesome place. Thanks Dick for sharing your place."

  • Beautiful week on Ox Lake

"This is a lovely old lake home with some modern updates. It has a lovely calm feel to the house. Our group of 9 really enjoyed themselves. We loved eating on the deck and taking in the beautiful view. We were lucky that the weather was very moderate (low 80's) and that it cooled off nicely at night. The many ceiling fans kept the temperature very comfortable. On the not so lucky side, there was a huge hatch of mosquitos --the grocery store was sold out of bug spray! We managed pretty well and all brought home numerous bites. This is just Mother Nature and not anything that could be controlled. We also enjoyed using the kayaks, Stand up paddle board and canoes. Our kids are all adults but that doesn't mean they don't like extra water toys! The raft off shore was also enjoyed and utilized. A wonderful family week at the lake."

  • Perfect for our Family Vacation

"We just returned from an amazing family vacation - 10 adults and 3 small children. This place met every one of our needs and more! First of all, the home and property are incredibly beautiful. You will never want to leave. The kitchen and dining area are simply spectacular with everything you could possibly need to do your cooking. Just bring your food. We went out for dinner only one of the nights during the week and sort of wished we had stayed there and cooked it ourselves, because that was such a part of the fun. We spent a ton of time on the wonderful beach, which is huge and clean. We brought our own pontoon, fishing boat and jet ski, but there are opportunities for rental if you need it. The Bertha Boatworks is a 5 minute drive away for launching and a minute or two ride by boat - very convenient. We used the standing paddle boards and kayaks supplied by the owner and they were big hits with everyone. The sleeping accommodations were plentiful and very comfortable. There is a full kitchen in the lower level as well as another large family room. There are laundry facilities on each level. I could go on and on about all these amenities - just look at the pictures and read about them. Most importantly, the owner, Doug, couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. We had a storm one evening and the power went out, which falls under the "act of God" category. It came back on during the day, but Doug was more than helpful in dealing with it and checking on how we were doing. He really wants you to have a great time and does everything he can to ensure that. We highly recommend this place. We had one of the best vacations ever as a family. Extremely satisfied!"
