  • Perfect getaway spot

"My wife and our daughter, husband and 2 kids just spent a wonderfully relaxing weekend at Jasper Bay House. After having stayed 4 nights at the Jasper Guest house in June with my fishing buddies, we were fortunate to grab a weekend at Don's Bay house. Don's craftsmanship is a joy to behold and we felt completely at home."

  • Beautiful place on Lake Burntside. We loved it.

"Close to remote wilderness, easy to get to town of needed provided you have a boat. WONDERFUL!!!! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The people in Ely were very friendly. My son and I spent 3 days here during the beginning of September. The cabin is clean and well appointed. The place is remote enough that, for the most part, we were alone. Very seldom saw another boat. The loons sang their haunting song. We heard wolves howl from the northwest side of the lake. Their calls were answered from the west. Awsome. If you were inclined to do so, you could land the boat on the lakeshore and venture to where the wild things are. We saw 2 eagles while out fishing one afternoon. Caught pike and smallmouth. We got lucky with the weather and saw the brilliant milky way after the moon had set. Sometimes, the only sound to be heard was your own breathing. When the wind was blowing it made a wonderful low roar. It was nice to have the boathouse. It made for easy preparation for fishing excursions. We loved the place. Very nice."

  • Awesome!

"Cabin was immaculate when we arrived. We love visiting the northeast end of Vermilion; having lived in the area 15 years ago. Best lake in the state hands down. The location of the cabin is perfect; 15 min boat ride from Hoodoo point where we put in (it's in site of Glennwood Lodge if you choose to drive there), 15 min to the Trout Lake portage beach, 15 min to Fortune Bay Casino & Golf, and great fishing out the door. Dock was large enough to accommodate both our 24' Pontoon and boat + friends that stopped over. The cabin: it's new. nice open living area and kitchen, bathroom was large, and nice sized bedrooms. We really enjoyed the deck and large area to the lake. Yes, we already reserved for next year!!"

  • What a peaceful cozy place!

"Perfect get away! Peaceful, charcoal grill (all the stuff you need provided!), nice setup inside, really enjoyed it! Only negatives I'd say is that some supplies were missing (i.e. no salt) and the bed wasn't the most comfortable (take it with a grain of salt though because I always say that wherever we go). But nothing to seriously complain about. There is even a selection of a bunch of VHS movies! We watched Forest Gump and the Flintstones! We'd highly recommend coming here! Best thing about it by far was walking onto the dock at sunrise and watching the sun dissipate the mist from off the lake. So beautiful! You should come!"
