  • Wonderful farm, great visit.

"How many times have we pulled into a guesthouse only to discover that we'll be listening to road noise all night long? Tim and Beth's farm isn't like that. It's deep country quiet and dazzling stars at night. We've stayed in the yurt and in Mr. Ed's Cabin and both were comfortable. Also, have the breakfast at least one time during your stay, because Tim and Beth are fun to talk to. There's also abundant bird life, lovely wildflowers. The yurt has a porch from which you can watch the sunset, which on the first night of our stay was gorgeous. All the equipment worked fine and tho the Yurt got a bit hot during the day, as we expected it would do, it cooled off just fine at night. The creek on the property is not truly swimmable, but it's good spot to sit and cool off. There is an actual swimming hole, very pretty, just a few minutes' drive away. Go there and talk to the locals. It's fun! I just hope I can visit again soon."

  • Quiet with a view

"Hilary has a lovely property with wonderful scenery, large windows and patio to enjoy it, and no view of the neighbors. This home is right in the middle of where you want to be and what you want to do. From Poughkeepsie with the Walk Across the Hudson, Ross's deli, and the the Culinary Institute of America, to the town of Hyde Park and FDR's homes and library, then north to Rhinebeck with all the fun shops and eateries, every destination is under 30 minutes away. Great antique stores, bakeries and Farmer's Market are waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. If nature is your thing, you could hike a different trail everyday for a month and not run out of new areas to explore. And after the day's fun, come back to a lovely place where you can sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy even more of nature's beauty. Hilary is a great host who responds quickly to questions and wants her guests to be comfortable."

  • Beer and Food Festival

"We rented the house for the TAP NY beer and food festival weekend. The house had an awesome lay out and tons of bedrooms. We had 6 couples and everyone had their own room. We also didnt realize the house had a hottub until we got there, very nice surprise!! Bartek was an excellent host and we even got to hang with the neigbors for a bit who were awesome too. It was super close to the mountain so perfect for a nice walk back! We would definitely stay again!"

  • Excellent Venue for Our Large Family Thanksgiving!

"This year I decided to host a big family Thanksgiving, but, unfortunately, my home was too small to house all of our guests. Luckily, I was able to find this lovely and very comfortable home just down the road. The house is very conveniently located on a quiet street with woods in the back and to the side. Just down the main road you will find Red Hook (only about 10 minutes by car) or head the other way and you are at a lovely winery or distillery (about 3 minutes by car)! The home is equipped with everything you could dream of - two main tvs (plus I think i saw one in the master bedroom as well) AND a home theatre room (which is absolutely adorable with its drive-in theatre design). There are multiple video gaming systems, boardgames galore, an outdoor play structure (so cool!), and a playroom that was the absolute delight of my 15 month old. Seriously, that play room...I might rent the house again just for that - and I live in town!! The house is clean, fully stocked with blankets, towels, and pillows, and there is every kitchen tool you could ever need - and I loved the vintage touches in the serving ware! The house is also very convenient for sharing space - their is a door to the finished basement (with a queen bed, a futon, a "mini" futon, the playroom, and movie theatre) from the upstairs, allowing privacy and to sequester noisy teenagers ;-) The kitchen is a good size (with a great giant island), and the table was perfect for our large family. The living room also has ample seating, which made it great for watching our home movies on the large tv! One thing to note in case it is relevant to you - the two bathrooms upstairs have gorgeous tubs, but you will need to step into them (an issue if you have mobility issues), there is a shower downstairs with a small step in and the stairs are carpeted and were easy to manage for my 82 year old grandmother, but did want to note it in case it were to be an issue for your group. Your hosts are polite and quick to reply - a very helpful informational "Read Me" book is provided that answers any possible question you could ever have! All in all, this is one of the best rentals I have stayed in - and I have stayed in upwards of 20 vacation rentals. Every detail is cared for, the hosts are helpful and attentive (but also fully give you your space and privacy), and you can even bring your pup (with approval of course). We had a great trip there and I most highly recommend!!"
