  • A lovely country retreat

"We very much enjoyed our stay with Rob and Gill from the greeting chocolate cake and wine to the last delicious, healthy breakfast. In between we loved the spacious, restful, beautifully landscaped grounds. Our room was large, carefully decorated, very clean, with access to a kitchen and living room. The location is excellent, with several restaurants within walking distance and many places to visit nearby. We look forward to returning soon."

  • Cozy but spacious

"We had a wonderful couple days with extended family in George and Katy's lovely house. The surrounding mountains were covered in a lovely mist in the mornings as we enjoyed coffee on the deck of the guest house. All ages had a good time here, including teens playing badminton and canoeing around in the small pond, some seniors who were having some mobility problems, and all in-between who congregated in the large living room (10 easily gathering in a conversation circle) for evenings catching up with relatives. Our family of 4 slept in their unique guest house (a cabin with large screened porch surrounding a "vintage" travel trailer). The beds in the trailer were very comfortable and with all the windows it was just like sleeping out, minus mosquitoes! George was very helpful and available in case we had any questions or problems. There was plenty to do in the area - hikes, villages, coffee shops, museums, etc. My only complaint is that the morning sun shone on the pond but not the house, and then the hot afternoon sun shone on the porch! (I'm sure this is a huge plus in the winter, but not in the summer!) So, George and Katy, if you could only turn your house 180 degrees it would have been perfect! (Maybe on a lazy susan?) We will definitely be back and I would recommend this house to anyone, larger groups especially."

  • I wish we could have stayed for longer!

"We loved our stay at June and David’s cabin – it’s beautifully done up and furnished and very spacious. Having just spent a few nights in the city where we had eaten out every night, it was great to be able to cook in and enjoy the evening with the open fire and a bottle of red. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great while we were there, but we still managed to enjoy a couple of local walks, and an enormous dinner at Tavern 214. Maybe it’s just our British appetites, but the starters were the same size as we would expect a main to be! The cabin is a very romantic place to spend a few nights for a retreat – we even got engaged there!"

  • great house! very clean!

"this is a very very cute cottage and Diane the owner keeps it immaculately. we stayed there with our two small children and it has all we needed! great garden with tons of outdoor space, comfy beds, cute and handy kitchen (and a dishwasher!!), nice and clean bathroom, cozy living/dining room. it is close to Livingston Manor amenities (especially Main Street Farm and the new brewery are highly recommended). i only give 4 stars for property because it is located on a rather big street, and for value because we had to take care of our own trash and struggled to find a transition station open in this rather small and remote place, drove around for quite a while and ended up driving it all the way back home to NYC and trash it at our home. but nevertheless, we loved this place and would love to return one day again."
