  • Family Reunion

"Absolutely Fantastic!! We had 3 different families meet at this incredible home for a reunion. It had everything you could think of and more! Huge kitchen connected to large family room. A lot of fun things to do inside (games, movies, ect.) and hours of fun outside using their kayaks, canoes, swim platform and 3 docks! We had 3 couples with a total of 8 children and there was still room left over for more!! I highly recommend this place !!"

  • A little piece of paradise

"Having grown up in nearby Hammondsport, it was just natural to rent a cottage on Keuka Lake for our out of town guests. The Red Doors was nothing short of perfect for our needs. The cottage was up-to-date with all the modern amenities that you would ever need while holding onto the charm that goes along with lake living. From the spacious living quarters, the well equipped kitchen, the views of the Bluff from nearly every window in the house, the beachfront and dock, comfy lakeside chairs, fire pit, kayaks, and on and on, the Red Doors was like a little piece of paradise. One could tell that the owner had spent many a summer at the lake as she provided everything that would make your stay comfortable as well as memorable. The location was great - right in the middle of Wine Country. Area restaurants were either a short walk or a short drive away. There was plenty to do - or not do - but we always made it back to the lake for the most spectacular sunsets you can find anywhere! Our guests left feeling more relaxed than they had felt in a very long time. It was truly a wonderful vacation and many, many memories were made that will last a lifetime. We highly recommend the Red Doors!"

  • Beautiful Lake Location

"I live an hour north of the Finger Lakes and have spent a lot of time on most them. It Shore Is Nice is the ideal spot and rental for a relaxing, carefree stay on Keuka Lake. This was my 2nd summer renting here and I plan to return next summer. The place is immaculate and Kelly thinks of every last detail to make your arrival and stay relaxing and easy. Coffee on the kitchen level deck each morning lets you watch the lake and surrounding area wake up each day and the lower deck let's you snooze or read with the lake as your view. There are 2 kayaks, a canoe and a sunfish available for you to use so you can enjoy the water minutes after you arrive. The location is great - about half way between Penn Yan and Hammondsport- be sure to explore the later and drive around the lake (perfect for an overcast day) and stop at wineries and antique shops. There is so many things to do in the area or just sit and read a book on the dock while enjoying the peacefulness of Keuka Lake."

  • Lake front home

"We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, old, centrally-located home with a beautiful view of Keuka Lake. It was well-equipped & had plenty of space. We enjoyed the views as we had family game nights at the large inside table overlooking the lake. The Adirondack chairs on the deck allowed for comfortable and relaxing seating in the mornings and while watching the sunsets in the evenings. Really wish that canoes or kayaks were available with the rental... we didn't have perfect weather until our last full day so we didn't want to rent kayaks for three days to be delivered, but it would have been wonderful to have them available (or a row-boat to take out fishing.). There was no action from the dock at our personal beach across the road as far as fishing and we couldn't figure out how to access the cove that is supposed to be 5-6 houses south that is mentioned in the house notes. It was a great base for all the activities we enjoyed: Glass blowing in Corning, hiking the BREATHTAKING Watkins Glen, visiting several wineries, and even a drive up to Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario to see the lighthouse. The price during the week was very reasonable for the spacious home and beautiful view. A king-size bed in the Master, watercraft availability, & direct access to the lake without having to cross the road and go down the path would make it a 5 star, but for the price, we would still recommend this home on the water!"
