  • Well located, nice host, efficient studio...

"Michael was a gracious host. Well appointed studio space, with everything most people would need. Well-located... 1 block from the Highline, 2 blocks from the subway, UBER, Lyft, and Via easily available, nice restaurants and art galleries nearby. For the 5 days/4 nights we were there, was great. I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, only real issue is that we typically stay longer and like a bit more space. For shorter stays 5 stars! Would recommend for shorter stays. Would rent again..."

  • Perfect in every way!

"We loved everything about this rental! It's proximity to the subway, to great restaurants, and such a nice neighborhood and apartment! Norma is professional and a wonderful host, and we will stay there again on our next trip to NYC!"

  • Perfect New York Neighbourhood Experience

"I stayed for the Easter week in John's lovely apartment with my two grown up children. The apartment was perfect for us. It was comfortable for 3 adults and John was kind enough to stock the fridge with wine and provide complimentary snacks and cakes. The apartment was round the corner from the subway but also within walking distance of 5th Avenue, the Highline and Chelsea Market. We also walked down to Greenwich Village for a meal on the Saturday and it was a pleasant 20 min walk. The neighbourhood felt safe, even at night and while there is a park/play area next to the building this was quiet in the evenings and during the day just the noise of young people playing games, quite nice actually. The apartment is on the top floor so while it is rather a climb it does mean that it is rather quiet for New York - also has a fabulous view of the Empire State and the skyline from the bedroom. Don't be put off by the rather utilitarian stairway - when you open the door of the apartment it is like an oasis of calm and full of lovely artwork. John is a gracious host and extremely good at making contact about arrangements and any other queries - he returns emails straight away. I wouldn't hesitate visiting here again - it made the holiday for us."

"I've been fortunate enough to stay at Shani and Albert's on two occasions, most recently in September 2016. It is a truly fabulous apartment - a fascinating mix of industrial fittings (with pipes running the length of the high walls and across the ceiling) and gorgeous antique furnishings. The walls are dotted with Albert's impressionist and post-impressionist paintings and there are a myriad of beautiful objects to stare at and enjoy. Lots of light streams through the tall windows and you can catch both the Chrysler and the Empire State buildings from the spacious living area. The bathrooms are wonderfully maintained and well stocked with soft towels, soaps and creams. Noting the comment re the lack of air conditioning, while I haven't stayed in the middle of summer and I am an Australian, there are multiple ceiling fans which I'm confident would cool all aspects of the apartment. Finally, there are fantastic supermarkets and delis nearby and it is a short walk to the heart of NYC. Shani and Albert are a complete delight and I hope I have the good fortune to stay in their home again. Kirstin"
