  • Perfect in so many ways

"Perfect! I loved staying here. Great views of Broadway and 7th Street. The condo is VERY QUIET. You can open the windows and a balcony door and hear the hustle and bustle of NYC life, but when closed, it is remarkably quiet. The location is easily within walking distance of many Broadway shows, Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen area, NBC Studios/Rockefeller Center, MTA Subway stations (49th St Sta and 50th St Sta, just to mention two). The entrance is non-descript next to the M&M Store with two concierges on duty. They were very helpful along with the documentation the owner provides. If you like the busy atmosphere of a hotel, this is not for you, but we like our privacy off the street and found this to be a perfect fit. The photos included in this listing are representative, but seeing the unit in person is much better (unlike some listings which provide photos that tend to be misleading). The owner is quick to answer emails and very helpful. I hope to return again."

  • Quiet apartment in great Upper West neighborhood

"Because there are few reviews of this on VRBO (log book in apartment shows many rentals), I've included a few extra details.  Bottom line: we will stay here again. The apartment is offered by a management company.  Although this likely increases the price, the assistance offered in regards to email, telephone and the set-up and maintenance of the apartment is a good tradeoff. This apartment in the back of the second floor of a brownstone is located in a toney and quiet residential Westside neighborhood with very convenient access to transportation, shopping and restaurants. No street  noise whatsoever. The floor plan itself is small but  efficient (the pictures on the website are accurate).  A big plus in summer are the two  quiet AC units: one  in the  main room /kitchenette area and one in the  small  bedroom.  They are more than adequate. (I don't know about cold weather heating.)  The supply of  small items had hits and misses. The bedroom and living room, the latter with its small barstool dining table,  are  excellent spaces to spend the few hours you will stay in the apartment. Although the appliances in the kitchenette are good, the counter space for food preparation is very small. While toasting bread, making an omelet on the 4 burner cooktop, boiling a cup of  water or preparing a frozen dinner (yuck) in the  microwave is simple, preparing a more involved meal is not easy. The cabinets over the counter are very high: you need a step stool (supplied) to access beyond the first shelf. These last few comments on the kitchenette may not be applicable to many renters. We found it a minor inconvenience.  It's a great place to stay.  We will surely come back to stay here."

  • 1880s Harlem Mansion

"Five ladies stayed in the house to celebrate my recent birthday. It is everything it says on the web site and more. The location is excellent for getting downtown, Central Park, in fact anywhere as it is located only five minutes walk from a sub way. Locally the area is really buzzing, with the famous Sylvia's and Red Rooster restaurants just nearby. With a large Wholefoods store just about to open it will just complete the area for convenience. However the house itself is in a really nice street with a park at the end. Joyce provides for everything in the house and you can't help but enjoy yourself. It's a perfect place to come back to at the end of a long days sight seeing or shopping. I will be back again for sure."
