  • Perfect stay lower east side.

"We made a perfect choice!!! Very nice clean studio, good " local" neighbourhood. Easy access to subway, restaurants, market- shop with lovely food. Sofia is a nice host, she provides a list with all kind of useful information. Thank you ."

  • Great Stay!

"This was a cozy loft. My family of 5 aren't used to sleeping so close but we did really well And had a blast! The decor was different than the pictures but whatever. Im not a nit picker and it worked out for us for the few days we were there. The door knob did fall off a few times and my husband had to fix it as best as he could. Good price for what it was and would refer!"

  • Beautiful brownstone perfect for us!

"Wow, what a find! Darlyn has a wonderful property to offer! At first I was unsure about staying in Harlem, but it was a last minute trip and Darlyn responded to me first! Thank goodness she did! I found out that I love Harlem and I loved staying in a neighborhood rather than in Times Square as I've done in the past! The place itself is very spacious, the bedroom is lovely with high ceilings and a dreamy bed. The pull out twin beds are very comfortable as well. I am PICKY, people. The kitchen was beautiful and well appointed, everything one would need! Linens were Turkish cotton and smelled fresh and clean, which is actually rare. Bathroom is small, but the water pressure is great and I used the floor to ceiling mirror in the bedroom to get ready, so that didn't matter to me. There's a fan, extra comforters, a rolling cart for groceries, air conditioning that works fantastically. Door dead bolts which I liked. The neighborhood is wonderful with coffee shops, delis, restaurants, grocery stores, you're right by the 1 subway line which takes you everywhere from the village to battery park to Columbia. People are friendly and I never felt unsafe with my children. It's a family feel in the building as well. I imagine coming again in the fall with the crisp weather and being so cozy at this special place. I fell in love :) Don't hesitate to visit this place. Such a gem!"

  • LOCATION, COMFORT, GREAT HOST

"I and my sister stayed here for 8 nights and loved the place. Very close to several subway lines (the E line is at the corner of 8th Avenue and 44th Street--which is only one block from the apartment--the E line will take you to the air train then into JFK for easy and inexpensive airport transportation). Only one block from Broadway, close to restaurants, shops, hop on hop off is across the street on 8th. I'd rate it a five stars except the apartment could use updating on the living room chairs (rips in the upholstery) and sofa (a bit worn) and the apartment smelled of cigarette smoke (from an adjacent apartment?). Open the window when you leave and it will smell more fresh when you return. Don, the owner, was VERY helpful and returned almost all emails the same day. This place won't disappoint you. I stayed in the bedroom and my sister stayed on the very comfortable sofa. (It pulls out to a sofa bed, but she just made up the sofa for a bed without pulling it out and it was large and comfortable for her.) The best part of this apartment is that it is so easy to go back to late in the afternoon to re-fresh, re-group and then go back out again, and the NYC subway is easy to figure out, so the fact that you're only a few blocks from the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 7, and N, R, Q lines is a great plus. Walk a couple of blocks to the Q line and go all the way to Coney Island with no transfers, or walk one block to the E line and get all the way to JFK with only one transfer to the air Train...."
