  • Beautiful scenery. Nice cozy cabin !!!!

"Me and my family took a trip to the mountains and found this cozy cabin to stay at. It was perfect. The morning view was unbelievable. We saw turkeys and deer. The night view was spectacular. We watched the meteor shower with a air mattress in the field. It was perfect.... The walk to the river was nice as well. Found some really pretty rocks. You will want you a walking stick to help you get back up the mountain because your legs will burn ;) . We had a awesome time enjoying the scenery. My 9 year old loved the fact that he could watch dvds. This little cabin was only about 20 minutes from Lake lure and Chimney Rock . So much to do at the cabin and plenty to do when your out and about. Loved it here so much. Can't wait to be able to go back. Thank you Mr.Mark for such a awesome place to stay . Also owner was very helpful in telling us different things we could check out and do with kiddos. We had a Great time... Thank you again. :) Just wish I could post some pictures. This written review does not justice to how beautiful it was."

  • Anniversary weekend

"My husband and I spent our 20th anniversary weekend at the cabin and loved it! The cabin was immaculate, had everything we could need . We spent a lot of time just sitting on the screened-in porch enjoying the quiet and the birds. Our only suggestion would be window coverings on the upstairs bedroom window ( stargazing great at night but if one wanted to sleep in a bit the sun was quite bright..:) ). House is centrally located 45 min to Lake Lure, 30 min to Morgantan and Black Mountain. There is not much immediately nearby so it it a great place to truly get away from it all! We Enjoyed the community pool one day too , also immaculate. Would highly recommend this beautiful cabin ."

"My family and I stayed at this property for a weekend trip back home for my Grandmother's 80th birthday. We were looking for a location that could suit our needs as far as location and amenities and this house had it all! The view from inside the home and the deck looking across the meadow is breath taking! I wish we would've had time to enjoy the board games that are stocked within the home but our event schedule kept us busy. The linens for towels and sheets were top notch and soft! The closet space was UNBELIEVABLE (wish I had packed more clothes just to hang them up). Even though we only ate at the cabin a couple times there were plenty of pots, pans, serving ware etc for our needs. Sharon was very easy to communicate with and was always efficient to respond. We look forward to renting here again!"

  • Large Group Getaway

"The Highlander Cabin was a great getaway location for my family. Between my husband and me and our 5 adult children, the house served us well in size, location, and activities for us to do together or alone. Because of our size, it was important for us to have a house that allowed everyone his/her own space, but also afforded us an area that we all could come together to eat and/or play games, etc. It was also nice to be able to cook on the premises vs going out every night since we had a budget by which to abide. The surrounding area offered many day trips, too. We will definitely look forward to returning to the Highlander in the near future!"
