  • We loved staying at fawn Forrest for the second time!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love staying at fawn forest the home is very clean and comfortable and offers everything that we needed. There is plenty to do right there at the home with the game room and the lake being right there. this is her second time staying there the only difference this time we didn't catch very many fish and we think that is because the fish feeder was not there. However we really enjoyed the kayaks."

  • Fantastic House!!!!!!

"Our traveling group consisted of 4 families, 8 adults and 7 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us and even had extra space. The place actually sleeps 17 people. The kitchen was well equipped, had everything we needed and more and we cooked most meals at the house. Plenty of dining seating for all of us. Plenty of seating on the deck as well. Kids loved the hot tub and the game room downstairs. Even though there is only 3 bathrooms for all those people it was plenty. The house is in great condition and everyone loved how comfy the couch was. WiFi worked good and we loved using all of the amenities at the resort. Kids ages ranged from 2-13 years old. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about the house. We loved it so much we were going to book it again for Labor for all of us but it was already booked up. Boo. We will definitely book this house again. Stuart was responsive as well."

  • Relaxing vacation--Clean condo

"We had a great time at Lake Lure staying at your condo. It was very clean and comfortable and Becky (owner) was very accommodating with suggestions of restaurants, things to do, and making sure we had all that we needed to make our stay pleasurable. We stopped at Sliding Rock (in Pisgah National Forest) on the way down to have fun and cool off . While in Lake Lure, we enjoyed amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort like swimming at beach area, basketball, and kayaking on the lake. Legends restaurant was good but did not get chance to eat at Lakeview restaurant. Other restaurants we visited--Larkins on the Lake (just OK), LaStrada (very good), and Medina's (at Chimney village--good). All in all--a good time! Thanks Becky!"

  • Comfortable condo by lovely Lake Lure

"My best friend, seven-year-old son and I stayed for three nights at Sallie and Alan's condo and had a great time. Sallie was very communicative and a pleasure to work with. We swam in the lake and the pool (which has a fun 'lazy river'), rented kayaks, took a boat trip around the lake (which includes the sites where 'Dirty Dancing' was filmed - you can rent the movie from the wellness center and watch it before you go!), ate a very nice dinner at the Lakeview restaurant and enormous, delicious ice-creams from the beachside cabana, and played mini-golf and other games. Having stopped at the nearby Ingles for supplies on the way to the condo, we didn't leave the resort the whole time! One thing we really liked about the Rumbling Bald resort is that all the facilities are close together, so you can park up in one place and walk between them. We also had access to them for the whole of the days we arrived and left, which was a bonus. The resort wasn't crowded during our stay. The condo itself was pleasant, with comfortable beds and effective A/C, which was important as it was HOT. Just a five-minute drive to the resort facilities. Neither the condo nor the resort are super-slick and modern, but that wasn't our priority. I was a little surprised to find that the screened porch had plexiglass windows, but it would have been too warm for us to sit out there without them anyway. The wifi was OK but cell reception quite poor for my network (Sprint). Lake Lure is a special place - swimming in the fresh water, surrounded by mountains, is an experience not to be missed. We hope to be back! Thank you Sallie and Alan for sharing your condo with us!"
