  • Adorable Gem in Ocracoke!

"My husband, our Chocolate Lab named Drew and I had a wonderful stay at this adorable cottage on Ocracoke Island. The layout of the cottage is just ideal and we loved the large screened-in porch. Having the fenced in yard was great too. The location is just perfect. Tucked back in with just a few other houses but within walking distance to many of the quaint shops and restaurants. We even walked to the lighthouse and enjoyed checking out all the other charming houses along the way. The cottage was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We hope to be back to Ocracoke and will definitely want to stay at this adorable cottage when we return!"

  • Terrific Vacation House

"This is a clean, well equipped and thoughtfully designed house. We spent a very relaxing week with our three adult children and one guest. Cooking was easy in a kitchen equipped beyond the standard for a vacation rental. The great room is open and airy never feeling crowded. My favorite spot was on the screened porch where I could read quietly and catch a breeze. From a design standpoint, the house has a level of simplicity and refinement we found quite delightful. The Pony Island Inn is and easy walk for breakfast, and Howard's Pub is a short walk beyond. We rented linens and beach umbrellas from Ocracoke Island Realty which simplified our visit greatly. Brian, the owner, lives locally and is easy to reach. All in all, we had a very positive stay."

  • Great family home with comfy beds

"We enjoyed our stay immensely at Pat's Place. It is in an easy location and convenient to walking to the Ocracoke Coffee Company and other venues at that end of town. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The screened porch was a wonderful spot to enjoy in the early morning or late afternoon evening, although there were a few holes that needed repair to keep all the bugs out. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the well water that had a sulfur smell. Bottled water was provided for drinking and cooking, but showers were a tad aromatic. There is no outside shower, so it was challenging to get all the sand off before showering inside. However, these were minor issues. The internet was fast and easy to access. A/C was great, ceiling fans were all in working order, and it looks like there were good TVs and a stereo. (We didn't watch them, though.) Washer and dryer were new. We would have preferred a few more bath towels to use, though."

  • Compact but very livable

"This is not a luxury property but has some features that make it a great value. Although the enclosed living space is limited the screened porch/eating area is a big bonus. I made substantial use of the back deck area which was not shown in the listing photos. I was surprised by the small number of mosquitoes visiting while siting outside (even at night) as there are many on Ocracoke Island. The outdoor shower was a real treat after coming from a long afternoon at the beach. I found the location to be very good as the cottage is at the beach end of the village and not far to the island grocery store. This was a convenient stop on the way to and from the beach. Ocracoke Coffee is also an easy 8-10 minute walk away. The host was very helpful and answered any questions quickly through the HomeAway app. A break down in the WiFi after a stormy night was also quickly resolved after messaging . Thanks. I enjoyed my stay and would return."
