  • Great place to stay!

"The condo was very nice, nicely appointed with a great view of the beach and ocean. We could sit in the living area and see the ocean or go on the deck and have a great view of the ocean and beach. The deck was very big with plenty of room for all of us. The beach was easily accessible with a walkway right out the back of the condo. It was just a short walk to the beach, less than 100 yards. The kitchen had everything that we needed for our stay. Good fridge with ice maker, stove and microwave and plenty of dishes, tableware and anything that we needed for cooking. The location was close proximity for good restaurants. It was very comfortable for 4 people, we had 4 adults and 2 small children. The parking was a little bit of an issue. We never did find where the overflow parking was. There is really only room for one car. All in all a very good place to stay. We would definitely recommend staying there and would stay there again. It was to our satisfaction from the way it was described to us. I would recommend the Sea Witch and Jack Mackeral restaurant at Kure Beach. Our grandkids loved the aquarium at Fort Fisher which was only about a 15 minute drive down Carolina Ave."

  • A Delightful Week

"A wonderful place for a family stay! This is our fourth stay here, and the house is always immaculate and trouble free. One block from the beach and featuring a very close community pool, getting wet and having fun is easy."

  • Beautiful, open, lots of sunlight, and right on the beach

"We loved it here. The home is right on the beach with a nice deck and walkway to the beach. Great view of the beach from the living area and bedrooms. Floor to ceiling windows facing the beach. The living area is large and open, and actually has enough seating for a large group. Many of the other homes we looked at had room for 10+ people to sleep, but only had one sofa and a tiny dining table. Escape Hatch has a huge dining table, two large sofas, and two chairs to lounge around in. There are plenty of deck chairs. We had eight family members and friends at one point and it never felt crowded. Well equipped kitchen. The upper deck is high and a nice spot to watch the beach. We fit four cars in the driveway, and there are two garage bays as well. The beds are on the soft side. The shower head in the master bedroom is nice and high for tall people. There were some used beach chairs and kids sand toys in the garage. The house is clean and tastefully decorated. There are two 24 hour grocery stores about 5-10 minutes away. The owners are easy to communicate with. We would definitley stay here again."

  • Well-stocked and perfect location

"This 5 BR 2.5BA oceanfront house was well-stocked and the location exactly 1mi north of Kure Beach pier and 1mi south of Carolina Beach pier/boardwalk was ideal. The beach was recently renourished in Feb 2016 (eg, sand from miles out in the Atlantic is slurried-in to build up the beach) and therefore quite substantial. The sheets must've been 400-count cotton because they were luxurious - nice if you have a sunburn! The photos and artwork/decor were very tastefully done. The kitchen had every possible gadget and serving utensil (sans some good slicing knives) and both drip and Keurig coffee makers. Each room has a TV. The Internet was fast. The front porch was deep with a nice 6-person table for games and cards + 6 rocking chairs. The kitchen table was long and could seat 10 (we did!). Nice gas grill and lots of beach chairs (though some were rusty from the ocean). I especially liked the layout of the master bed with its own bathroom/laundry tucked away down the stairs and away from the noise of the kitchen and living room. We rented this home for our family with adult children and their friends and it was perfect. The living room had a pullout couch but we didn't use it. The house came with all the linens (plus extra) so we didn't have to bring those. There were lots of spices to choose from plus starter paper goods, which helped a lot when we decided to cook. The only issue we had was our son got a cut on his hand from the barnacles growing on the concrete blocks in front of the house in the ocean - so don't climb on those! We did have to bring beach towels, coolers, and a cabana and some extra folding beach chairs. I would hands-down recommend this place to anyone and we have already reserved a week again next year."
