  • Family vacation

"The house was great! Tons of space for our whole family. Was great to have an additional kitchen downstairs, which provided easy access during the day for lunch and drinks. Loved the location on the lake...great area for skiing and wake boarding! The pool was also a huge plus with young kids."

  • A lakefront home that sleeps ALL of us that is also AFFORDABLE. FINALLY!

"I want to say right up front that I was looking for an affordable home on the lakefront where I could take my entire family (all 15 of us) to be together and everything was much more expensive than "Our Lake Howse II" so I wasn't going to be too picky. However this house is exactly what they say it is...it is a lake house that you can kick back and relax and have fun in! We put a fire in the firepit down by the lake and let the kids talk us into (right!) roasting marshmallows and when they went to bed the adults stayed and just watched the stars and relaxed. I can't thank you enough for sharing your home with us."

  • Perfect spot for us to be with our daughter & 2 grandchildren

"Lake Norman is such a lovely place to be, and this 2 bedroom, one and a half bath cottage was the ideal location for us. The accommodations were very nice, but especially popular with the children were the boats. We went out every day in the paddle boat which our 8yr. old grandson fished from and caught numerous sunfish, a bass, and a catfish - he was delighted! The canoe was so nice to be able to use too - and designed not to be too tippy. It was so nice of the Tatums to share their life vests, boats, yard, dock, entertainment kitchen, and grill with us. Since we were here for a reunion at my brother's on Lake Norman, we didn't take advantage of all that was offered."

  • Nice place

"Our group was 4 adults, 4 children, and a dog. Overall we had a great time, the owner was extremely nice and willing to help with any questions we had. He accomodated a coupled special requests and we were very grateful. The house was clean and well taken care of, the recent renovations (new carpet) are definitely nice. The location is great, feels like you are far from town but the reality is that anything you need is only 10 minutes away. This is a legit log cabin so be aware that lighting isn't all that great in some places (mainly kitchen) and the ceilings are vaulted/low on the top floor. The main floor bathroom has been updated but the basement and top floor could use some renovation - although they work fine. The yard and fire pit are great - kids had a lot of fun running around since we had surprisingly warm weather for winter. One thing that we found rather strange was that none of the beds were made when we arrived. There were clean sheets on each bed but we had to make them ourselves. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and never had to do this; it was not a pleasant surprise at 11pm (especially the bunk beds). This is actually more of a comment for the cleaning company but since they are hired by the owners I thought I would mention it. Again, overall a great place in a great location."
