  • Nice Experience

"There were three of us for a three night stay on the last weekend of October (2016). We simply enjoyed our stay. We had excursions planned for half of the day Saturday then Sunday, but the rest of the time was spent at the cabin. It was quiet peaceful and very relaxing. We hiked up the mountain behind the cabin, we had a fire outside, we relaxed in the living room, we walked the little creek and we slept very well. I’ve already referred this spot to friends. The area at this time of the year is beautiful! The colors of the trees is a sight to see, even at this cabin. The wifi was nice to have since cell coverage was bad. We cooked outside, on the stove, in the oven and washed our close. The place was clean and nearly everything worked. The only issue is the upstairs tub, the shower nob did not allow the tub to be used as a shower, I think it’s broken. But, if that’s my only complaint I did well. FYI, this cabin is on the northwest side of one of the Cowee mountains about an elevation of 3000 feet. The Alarka mountains are west of the cabin. The drive up to the cabin is very scenic (if you aren’t driving) and there is a shortcut (Deep Gap Road) that will save you about five minutes. Clingman’s dome is about an hour away driving the speed limit early in the morning. We’ll be back."

  • Stayed the Entire Month of October with Friends & Family Stopping by to Visit

"We returned a year later to enjoy the entire month at Buffalo Creek Lodge. Beau always makes us feel like part of the family. We watched the construction of Buffalo Trace above the Lodge. We spent the majority of our time relaxing on the property, enjoyed "Supper 3, several Supper 7's, and even a Supper 10 at The Pointe for Liar's Club II. Those who have been here know what this means. Side trips this time included Waynesville, Sylva, Mingo Falls at Cherokee, and then Pisgaw Forest to view Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock Falls, with a lunch stop at Hawg Wild BBQ. Lots of turkey, deer, and elk in the Smoky Mountains National Park. Great hiking trails and trout fishing. We see something new each year we return. We will return for October 2017."
