  • Basic cabin in perfectly beautiful river location

"5+ stars for the outdoor amenities, 3 stars for the cabin itself. The proximity to the water is unparalleled, spitting distance to the most gorgeous water view (the river splits into three parts right in front of the cabin and the islands in between are also available for exploring by bridge). There is a lovely fire pit (bring a lighter and kindling with you or you won't be able to do anything with the amazing pile of firewood next to it). Lovely nearby hike and a huge field next to the house- perfect for playing sports or spreading out to fish in the river. Best part bar none: rafting on unguided duckies and kayaks and making a pit stop for lunch at our own cabin on the way down the river (and ate said lunch / snack on the porch right on the river). We did it twice and it was seriously awesome. I cannot say enough about the location to the river. Ah-mazing. However, the cabin less so. As lovely as it is to hear the rushing water and see the amazing views, the cabin is also very close to the highway. (The highway sits next to the river the whole way so if you have one you have the other). Traffic can be heard at all times in and around the cabin as well as noise from the camping sites across the street. The bedroom faces the street and can be loud at night between the traffic and the window a/c kicking on and off all night (ear plugs and a box fan helped us out here). The cabin is part of a community with very nice homes (not remote as we thought it would be) and the hiking area, meadow, islands are all shared with the neighbors. The cabin needs a lot of love. It is tidy and reasonably clean but aged. The wifi was our main issue. We had a maximum of 1 bar the whole trip and it dropped every 10-15 mins for an hour or so. We have Verizon and 95% of the times we tried, there was no satellite signal for that either. We weren't prepared for this so be sure to reserve rafts, download books, look up restaurants, and tell your kids see ya when we get back before you come since you won't be able to do it at the cabin. The bed was comfortable, shower had great water pressure and hot water, numerical keypad lock was great. In comparison this has the prettiest location, but also the noisiest and least updated. Cabin is very basic, just like it states in the description. You are paying for the river proximity here. However if this cabin were updated, wow it would be a gem. Thanks for the nice stay Renee."

  • Quiet, secluded, lovely place

"The Eco cabin & lower floor of house were very spacious & the owner gave us free rein of the place. The main road in & out is a motorcyclists' dream with 101 turns in about 4 miles. We had a great stay in the Smokies!"

  • We Just Keep Coming Back

"Where are the other reviews? Beau keeps this placed booked so far in advanced that his "regular clients" want to refrain from making a review to keep this place a secret. He works hard to make sure you feel welcome and is constantly upgrading the facilities. We stayed last October, this October, and already have intentions to stay next October at Buffalo Creek Lodge. If you can get reservations, make them soon! We enjoy our visits with Beau, and meeting new friends at The Pointe for campfires and BBQ, or an occasional beverage at the Cowboy Bar. The views are absolutely amazing. At night you can actually see headlights up at Clingman's Dome from The Pointe. You are close enough to ride the Tail of the Dragon and enjoy the sights associated with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Rafting and kayaking are nearby. You can shop in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Ashville, Cherokee, and Waynesville. Or you can simply set in front of a roaring fire inside, or rock on the porch of Buffalo Creek Lodge, enjoying the sights and sounds while relaxing in the mountains."

  • Excellent views, kid friendly

"This cabin has outstanding views of the mountains from the enclosed porch on main floor with ample space and seating. There were toys available and children's books for our small children making our packing even lighter. The road to cabin from the paved main road is gravel and has two steeper turns during the climb up to the cabin with did fine with front wheel drive car and front wheel drive light SUV with driving slow during our summer visit. I feel 4 wheel drive would be needed during winter weather. Would stay again!"
