  • Comfy and Convenient Stay for Our Family Vacation

"Contacted the owner about a VERY last minute vacation rental for July 4th week. Luckily he had a last minute cancellation and it worked out wonderfully for all of us! Let me start by saying that the owner Roger is the perfect host! He was friendly, very easy to work with, and offered great tips about the area and things to do with our 10 year old son. He was super nice and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and that our vacation was enjoyable....and offered GREAT communication! The home is located on a peaceful and quiet mountain with a great "country" feel. We loved the hot tub on the covered back deck, the fire pit, the covered front porch with rockers, the homey feel, and the comfy beds. When we were planning our trip, we weren't quite sure which town we wanted to stay in and I'm happy to say Bryson City was the PERFECT location. It was VERY convenient to all of the activities we wanted to do as well as a super quick and easy ride to downtown, Cherokee, Lake Fontana, and Maggie Valley as well. We loved the easy access to everything, the comfort of the house, the stress-free booking of the place with Roger, the pet friendliness, and the quiet and peaceful surroundings. We will definitely be back! Thanks Roger for a great vacation rental!"

  • peaceful interlude in the green zone

"My lady and I stayed for several days at Linda's ecologically-minded enclave. No sound of traffic, elevator music or yelling in the distance. I'm talking total silence. This place is really out-of-the-way. Not that far from Asheville but quite secluded, deep into woods and farms but convenient to Bryson City, Franklin and Highlands, NC. Linda has created a peaceful and eco-friendly spot, with two beautiful stone houses. The rest is just landscape and woods. You're surrounded by greenery and natural peace. Great place to get away from it all! BTW, this place is motorcycle heaven for those so inclined. The roads are gorgeous and twisty!"

  • Great cabin, a little hard to get to

"My family of 5 stayed a week and loved the cabin. The AC worked great and the layout is perfect for family time. Open kitchen, dining room and living room was nice and the sofas were comfy. Satellite TV worked great. The jacuzzi was nice (it was dirty upon arrival but we advised Tina and she had it cleaned the next day). The layout is nice with two identical masters on the ground floor each with a nice bathroom. The wrap around porch has nice rocking chairs, a picnic table, and a nice grill. Our biggest issue was the driveway. It is long, unpaved and VERY steep. I really had to gun my two-wheel drive vehicle at the base of the hill to make it up and I honestly believe that if I were to have lost all momentum halfway up, there would have been a good probabilty that I would have been unable to continue the climb from a standstill. But with a 4 wheel drive vehicle I would have been much more comfortable. I was happy to disconnect from the world: att has intermittent signal at the cabin and while there is a wifi router to which you can connect, we were not able to pull up a single web page over the course of the week. Lastly, we really enjoyed the town of Bryson City and the surrounding area."

  • Excellent views, kid friendly

"This cabin has outstanding views of the mountains from the enclosed porch on main floor with ample space and seating. There were toys available and children's books for our small children making our packing even lighter. The road to cabin from the paved main road is gravel and has two steeper turns during the climb up to the cabin with did fine with front wheel drive car and front wheel drive light SUV with driving slow during our summer visit. I feel 4 wheel drive would be needed during winter weather. Would stay again!"
