  • Beautiful secluded cabin

"My friend from Georgia and I met at this cabin for a relaxing three day weekend and were unexpectedly surprised. It's a large, beautifully decorated cabin with all the amenities. The beds were comfortable, it had ample space for dining, and access to internet and entertainment. The hot tub was FANTASTIC and the views and grounds beautiful. I highly recommend it."

  • Spacious, Beautiful Mountain Home!

"This home is far nicer than a mountain cabin--spacious, beautifully decorated, huge kitchen, completely furnished with everything one could need. The bedrooms are split (on opposite sides of the home). There's a living room, dining room , and breakfast area. The beds and linens are excellent. Both bathrooms are ensuite. There is a large walk-in shower. There's easy access off the paved highway. Nicest of all is the owner,Carolyn Gale, and her caretakers, the Browns. Franklin is an excellent center for forays--northwest to the Wayah Bald and Nantahala River areas; southwest along the Cullasaja River and its falls to Highlands; northeast to Sylva, Maggie Valley, and Waynesville. Wherever our day trips took us it was always nice to come home to the comfort and quiet of this mountain home."

  • cozy

"Enjoyed our stay at this cute little cabin. It is nice and clean and well appointed. The opportunity to fish right from the yard was fun, though we didn't catch anything worth eating. Also enjoyed the fire pit by the river (bring your own wood). The location does feel a bit different in reality than it appears in the photo. I'm just saying, because it appears to be secluded, but is not- a main road (not a busy highway, but there is traffic) runs right in front of it (which in the photo appears to be a hillside going up into woods, but there is a road right there), and there are neighbors on each side and beyond. Inside, the water had a very strong sulfur smell which was quite unpleasant. I saw in the guest info book to contact the office if this was the case, so I did by text. They were very quick to respond (as they were when I was making the reservation-great property manager), glad to come over and change the water filter, but unfortunately, it didn't do much for the sulfur smell. Also, the gas fireplace gave off a very strong gas smell (propane, or whatever gas it is) that made me feel sick one night, so after that we just used the space heater provided instead of the fireplace. My husband, however, wasn't bothered by the gas smell, and none of my 3 kids seemed bothered, either, so maybe I'm just sensitive. In spite of these things, though, we did have a very nice time there, and the rental rate (even on Christmas holiday) was very reasonable."
