  • Franklin, NC..... a rough GEM indeed!!

"Our stay has been very pleasant. With the exception of WiFi (which we were informed of), this house is well provided with amenities. It even included a bucket of toys for our kids. We had a BBQ one day, and had a wonderful lunch outside. We expected Franklin, NC to be a small town with less than nothing to offer. WELL, WE WERE SO WRONG!! My wife even commented that Franklin, NC is way better that Cherokee, NC, and we should have spent more time here. A lot of God's creation displayed everywhere. We attended a wedding that was held at the Bloemsma Barn. The outside ceremony and the reception in the barn were just fabulous. Best wishes to the NEWLY WEDS!! You know who you are!!"

  • Cozy, comfy and cool

"My husband and I stayed here for six weeks, and it never disappointed. Relaxing, homey, incredible scenery - nothing was lacking. Whether we sat in the back, listening to the waterfall, sat on the front porch enjoying the hummingbirds, and the views of the mountains, or inside relaxing in comfort - we felt we had found a little bit of heaven. The house is wonderfully maintained, and set up so you need nothing but your own clothes and toothbrush. The kitchen is well stocked, the barbecue is great - we used it almost every evening. We ate many dinners on the back screened in porch, cool air wafting, and lovely sounds of the forest and water fall. And though we were only miles from Franklin, we felt we were away from it all. The house is nestled on a quiet road. We never lacked for another trail to hike, another waterfall to see, or a quaint town to visit and stroll. Even after six weeks, there was still so much more to see in the area, and so much more to do. We found some wonderful swimming areas - the bust your butt falls and the delicious pools in front of the High Falls (one of our favorite hikes), whitewater rafting, kayaking, and many beautiful hiking trails. And we always got to come back and relax at the cabin. Thank you. A lovely summer vacation home."

  • A River Runs Through It

"Most beautiful stretch of the Little Tennessee River for miles! Perfect for those that love to fish and play in and near the river. The cabin is very cozy and comfortable and appropriately decorated with bear and fishing art throughout. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly need except food. Franklin is less than 30 minutes away if you need groceries and a convenience store is 10 minutes. The large common area is beautifully maintained. It is a good aerobic workout to scale the steep slope to the cabin from the river and a nice walk along the river and and community road for those who like the exercise (me). For those that don't (my husband), it's a short drive down the hill to the river. Dave and Victoria were very helpful and friendly. We hope to return again when the trout are plentiful!"
