  • Great Family Reunion

"We had a wonderful family reunion including multiple generations and ages from the 80's to 6 months. The house was comfortable, large enough to give everyone private space when needed and great gathering space to all be together. We cooked all our meals there and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the essential cookware, utensils, etc. for that. We went up to Almond to rent pontoon boats and Carl's suggestion for the route to get there proved to be a beautiful drive. Our day on the lake tubing and swimming was fabulous. There are multiple hikes close by and even the three year old managed to get to the waterfall. There is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. Lots of good memories were made! The only problem with our stay there was that it was too short."

  • Beautiful Mountain Views!

"What an awesome view from this beautiful cabin! My husband and I and our two boys 13 & 11, loved everything about this cabin. First, it was very clean and had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were big. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. We were able to make many meals at the cabin and also used the grill. Nice washer and dryer, it was really helpful to have, especially when traveling with kids. The cabin was close to town, which had grocery stores and lots of restaurants. Great location, we were able to go gem mining, waterfall exploring, train riding and was also close enough to the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg. The climb up the driveway to the cabin was a little steep, but we managed ok with our van. Would definitely stay here again! The owner was very nice and responded very quickly. If you go, you must drive to the top of Wayah Bald...it is breathtaking!"

  • Excellent Cabin

"My husband and I have never been in the Franklin area as we always venture to Brevard to see Pisgah, Dupont and Gorges. This was a nice treat to be relatively close to the Great Smokies in Cherokee. Plenty of places to hike and fish. We even ventured further north to Cataloochee Valley to see the Elk. WELL WORTH THE 2 HOUR DRIVE, however if you are prone to car sickness the roads would not be good for you in Cataloochee. The cabin is excellent. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, well stocked. Porches were amazing. The shower had great water pressure and tons of hot water, well needed after a full day in the mountains. I would recommend this cabin to families or couples. The living room was very accommodating, TV's worked great, plenty of channels. The drive is not bad, we made it up the driveway in a Honda Accord, just have to be careful to make sure no ruts or mounds are in the way. (There were not when we were there) During our time in Franklin, Cherokee and Cataloochee Valley we saw 11 Elk (4 males, 7 females), 6 wild turkeys a deer, a woodchuck, and a possum. My husband swears he saw the hind end of the bear, but I didn't see it so it doesn't count."

  • Absolutely Beautiful and Peaceful

"In April 2016 we had the pleasure of staying at Rivers Whisper Retreat. Its an absolute beautiful cabin located on the river with beautiful views of the mountains. The cabin is wonderful inside and out, and we had the most peaceful stay. One of the most relaxing vacation spots we have ever visited. We will definitely stay again in the future and recommend it to others. The home accommodated 3 adult couples with three King bedrooms and separate bathrooms for each. It also has a separate bunk bedroom for children."
