  • Perfect Mountain Retreat

"My husband and another couple rented Wiley's Cabin for a few days and loved it! It was such a pleasure waking up to the awesome mountain views in the morning and watching the sun set over the mountains in the evening. This cabin is so far away from anything that the silence is palpable. Be sure and bring everything you need because there is no quick trip to the store. The owner was more than willing, however, to lend us a cup of buttermilk we had forgotten for a recipe! Hot tub felt wonderful after a long day of hiking at nearby Max Patch and Buckeye Ridge. Plenty of linens, towels, etc., and even though there is no fireplace, the heat source is fantastic. We didn't lack anything! The only thing I would have changed would have been cleaner windows for clearer views of mountain range. I can't wait to return to play in the wilderness and relax at this sweet place!"

  • So very relaxing!

"My wife and I added a couple of days on to the beginning of a conference to just get away and stayed at the Chestnut Log Cabin this turned out to be a great idea! The view from the front porch was a place I could have stayed our entire time. The town is an easy distance to walk to, it's very quaint with a surprising amount of dinner options. We went to the Tavern and the Iron Horse Inn, both were enjoyable. We hiked the Lover's Leap just across the river. It has some spectacular views and though we are novice hikers, we found it a moderate challenge but worth the effort. The hot tub was great to relax in after hiking. It's not state of the art, but it is very comfortable and relaxing. The only critique I would give is the need for bigger and softer towels for drying off. You might even consider bringing your own. If this is the only critique, then that's pretty good, but the towels were just small. Overall, Melanie was extremely easy to work with. Our time here was so great, just what we needed!"

  • serenity found

"Wonderful peaceful place to stay away from the touristy Smoky Mountain National Park and Ashville, but close enough for an easy dinner in Ashville or day trip to the park. Beautiful hikes just outside your door. Private hot tub and fire pit within steps of the house. The house was full of character. Very clean. We have stayed with VRBO across the country and I loved the old charm this house provided. I would recommend bringing some bigger towels as the hot tub and shower towels are rather small and it was chilly getting out at night in the fall."
