  • Not motorcycle friendly - but a fantastic stay

"This house had it all, a view, great amenities, excellent hosts, but if you are traveling via motorcycle that isn't meant for off-road, you're up for a challenge. The extensive, chunk-gravel drive off the main road, combined with two rutted and steep pitched hills, makes it extremely stressful for even the most seasoned Harley rider. Perhaps you park the bikes in-town and hitch a car ride with buddies to the house, but wanted to leave this honest review. The drive is a challenge for cars, even more so for bikes. But man. What a house! And if you're traveling into Asheville, you can get Ubers (don't drink and drive) from Marshall (not the house), but the Good Stuff bar is a great place to hang out, have a beer, and wait for your ride."

  • Ideal Mts Escape But Close Enough To Everything!

"I can't say enough good things about this place. We have just left and already want to return..actually, we didn't want to leave. The cabin was ideally situated in a wildlife sanctuary offering the mountain getaway backdrop we wanted. It's sometimes hard to tell with photos what you are going to get and I will have to say the photos do not do the beauty and nature that surrounds this cabin justice. Every morning we opened up the house to the sounds of the pond's fountain and enjoyed the space in the house for nightly family games. Our family of four (kids 18 and 19) had more than enough room to be together or separate for chill time with our books and thoughts. The home was immaculately kept and a well-stocked kitchen. Terry provides sheets and towels which saved us a lot of packing room. The grounds are meticulously cared for and you can tell Terry takes pride in her garden spaces. The location is ideal. We ventured to Asheville just about every day, hiked around the grounds, and spent a morning on Mt.Mitchell. Each night we escaped to the quiet sanctuary of the cabin. Lastly, Terry was awesome. She was easy to get in touch with. We emailed and texted several times before and doing our vacation. She left us flowers on our arrival and a sweet Welcome sign! In addition, she has a basket filled with area things to do which are helpful in planning (or trying to decide) the many things to do. We will be back!"
