  • Thanksgiving in Asheville

"We are just driving away from "the Best Thanksgiving ever" in Asheville. Yes, we were visiting extended family and our 2 adorable grandchildren, which was great fun. However, staying in Sheri and David's rental apartment made our vacation perfect. The property is at the top of a mountain, but is very close to restaurants, grocery, shopping mall, theaters, and all the other attractions Asheville offers. The apartment is very private and quiet. Sheri and David have gone out of their way to have it tastefully decorated, incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. Booking it was fast and easy, and any questions we had before our visit were answered immediately. We will definitely return to Bear Mountain Retreat again and again. Beverly H Atlanta, Ga"

  • Beautifully located mountainside property with stunning view overlooking the heart of Maggie Valley.

"We loved this mountainside home with two floors of living space, and a third including a two-car garage area below. Six of us comfortably enjoyed the main upstairs living area with fireplace, TV, and fully furnished kitchen and dining area. Also upstairs was a separate master suite with king bed and roomy bath with sauna. The downstairs living quarters also included a fireplace, sitting area, and TV, and two bedrooms. All of us loved the upstairs porch area extending across the front of the house. This included a wonderful picnic table, chairs and an outdoor grill. This is an ideal vacation home for small groups of family and friends. It's roomy and comfortable and affords each person a measure of privacy. The winding road up the mountain initially proved a bit challenging to these Florida flatlanders, but the view of the adjacent mountains and valley below made for a beautiful, peaceful, unforgettable Christmas holiday."

  • Wonderful weekend !

"We had two couples staying in the upper unit which has : two bedrooms, two baths, roomy family room connecting to a very nice kitchen Cheri greeted us and showed us around and she also explained that this was a recently completed house with two units- the two bedroom upper and a very nicely appointed one bedroom unit downstairs. Cheri also left us a very delicious chocolate cake that we enjoyed over the long New Year's weekend. When we first arrived it was a little challenging to find, but the house is on GPS and really was a breeze to get to once we had some experience with the area. The parking is a little limited for more than one car but nothing to really worry about, again once we understood how best to handle - Cheri was very helpful with this also. The accomodations were great and very comfortable for two couples. Asheville is only about 20 min away and we also went into Weaverville on New Year's day and had a wonderful brunch at a great place called The Glass Onion. We will definitely plan on spending more time in Weaverville on our next trip to Asheville. All in all a fantastic weekend and a wonderful house. Would definitely go back and stay again"

  • Wilson's Cottage

"Three friends and I were at the cottage for a week doing a show. It was wonderful to come "home" to a cozy cottage with all the amenities. It was exceptionally clean and we had a very accommodating host. The cottage was convenient to everything...shopping, groceries, restaurants and touring. I hope to visit again!"
