  • Very clean and cozy!

"This house was very quaint, clean and cozy! Owner was a pleasure to deal with. Only complaints are that the beds are pretty small for sharing so something to consider. Also- only street parking for all houses in the neighborhood so there were ALWAYS cars parked in front of the house and walkway. This was not a huge issue as we were always able to find a place to park. But if you have to haul a lot of stuff inside it's something to consider. Overall we loved it and hope to stay again next year- as this is an annual trip for us every year. :-)"

  • Perfect launching pad for a weekend spent exploring craft and the great outdoors!

"Wow! What a cool place. You've seen the pictures of the inside. Colourful, retro and weird, just like Portland! The beds were comfy, the shower was hot and ease of access were all spot on. We found everything that we needed except for umbrellas which would clearly be a luxury item in a rental unit but that was the only thing that we needed that we didn't find. The neighbourhood was so much fun to explore. Lots of great craft beer bars and breakfast places nearby. Would recommend Kevin's place for sure! Thanks for a great stay! - Tim, Theresa, Doug & Shelly"

  • Perfect location with one exception......

"This condo has everything and more than anyone would ever need...they thought of every need and then some. There was even a light in the laundry area (click on attached to side of stacked washer and dryer)...metal rack shelves included all cleaning supplies (gloves, swifter dust pads, spot remover for carpet, spray and wash for clothes, laundry soap, fabric softener, tools, extra light bulbs, batteries, ...you name it ...it was there). Kitchen supplies included popcorn popper, food processor, blender, mixers, knife sharpeners, knives, toasters, toaster oven, wine glasses....everything.) Condiments included spices and even sea salt...as well as Himalayan pink salt. Bathroom had shampoos, cream rinse and body wash. Towels for the sauna. Dishes and glasses for lots of things....I can't remember everything ...they may not have had a rice maker...but I'm not sure.... Needless to say this is a completely stocked unit to meet everyone's needs. The owner was very easy to communicate with if the need ever arises (we had a scheduled power outage), they were very quick to respond. We stayed over 40 days and we never drove our car except one time - when we did a big stock up at Safeway (didn't want to carry all the groceries back). We were centrally located with easy walks to the Saturday Market and lots of good restaurants and happy hours. The ground floor unit allowed easy access to the river walk and quick access to parks. The MODA center is directly across the river from this unit and it is fun to watch the colors of lights change with each night. The reason I didn't give the property 5 stars is because of the trains. If you are a light sleeper this is definitely not a location for you. The trains run across the river on tracks that then cross the bridge (which is directly to the right of the property) and it crosses the street and goes into the Train Center located directly behind the unit. Trains run every 2 -3 hrs throughout the day and night and I swear the 4am train conductor had a mean streak and would just lay on his horn. In all seriousness, the horns blow for 30-60 secs... maybe a little longer at times... and are very loud. You cannot sleep with any windows open due to the noise. We were there is Oct and Nov... and we never turned on the heat... the condo stayed between 69 and 73 degrees... we opened the sliding door to allow some fresh air in... to keep it a bit cooler but only during the day due to train noise."

  • Exactly what we wanted.

"This is a perfect guest house. Quaint, Awesome neighborhood. Close to downtown and an easy walk to local shops. We stayed during an overnight ice storm, so the gas fireplace was a great feature. The linens and decor are beautiful & make it feel like home."
