  • A great property in a perfect location

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 9-day stay at this house. It provided exactly what we wanted for our vacation: comfortable, clean and spacious accommodation, plenty of facilities to cook our own meals and a peaceful base from which to explore the area. The property is exactly as described and the photos are a great representation of what each of the rooms are like. We found the bed to be really comfortable and we really appreciated the heating that is in every room (individually controlled by separate thermostats) as the weather turned pretty cool whilst we were staying there in October. The property is set in a beautiful private community which was extremely quiet throughout our stay and provided plenty of opportunity for walking from the house – the lake is just a couple of minutes away. I would imagine the area is busier in the summer as there are plenty of recreation facilities available for use, with a beach and clubhouse within 10 minutes’ walk. There are a lot of white tail deer wandering freely around the community and we were delighted that they made daily visits in to our garden, as did the squirrels and a fox. There is so much to see and do in the immediate area but, as keen hikers, we loved walking the trails in Hickory Run and Lehigh Gorge State Parks (15-20 minute drive) and Jim Thorpe is a great place to visit (20 minute drive), both for the town itself and for taking a train ride (or bicycle trip) along the Lehigh Gorge. In summary, we would thoroughly recommend this property. Thanks to Julie for making the booking process so straight forward - and for coming to our rescue with this great house when we were struggling to find anywhere suitable to stay in PA."

  • Good for the Price

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great family weekend overall. There are a few pros and cons: Pros - close distance to various activities, game room, fully stocked kitchen, hot tub, community is very nice, economical Cons - furniture does not look clean, bathroom fixtures have mildew, not very quaint/homey"

  • Fun weekend getaway with friends

"The home was lovely and the view of the lake was nice! The snow looked beautiful outside on the lake and we are already talking about coming back in the summer when it is warm to enjoy the lake then as well. The house was newly renovated and the kitchen had everything that we needed! The owners were very responsive and even provided suggestions of activities in the area. We had a peaceful and relaxing weekend!"
