  • Amazing experience

"One of our best overall experiences in a VRBO. Communication with the owner was prompt and he was incredibly helpful when we had a problem with our car. He went above and beyond the call of duty to help us resolve the problem quickly. The property itself exceeded our expectations. Plenty of room inside and out to spread out and relax. Would be perfect for a couple of families or great for a weekend away with friends. Excellent hiking nearby and fabulous restaurants in Sewanee. We'll definitely be back!"

"This cabin is the absolute best ever!! When the former owner sold it to the new owners, always a little mindful of change but they are fantastic and have added some character of their own to the home!! Thanks for continuing to share this lovely home!! Happy New Year!!"

  • PERFECT Relaxing Getaway!

"We were a family of 4 adults and 3 children staying for 5 days at this beautiful Homeplace. Driving onto River Canyon Road and up to the Homeplace was almost surreal for us. The views and peacefulness of this area is just astounding. The Homeplace was PERFECT. The character of this house really makes you feel you are home. Beautiful old wooden floors, vintage furniture and spectacular views over the River. We sat outside and dawn and dusk watching the fog rolling over the mountains and the bats flying around looking for food, crickets chirping and sweet old "Tag", the dog, tagging along with us everywhere we went. We fell in love with him! We fished on the river most afternoons and caught some nice sized catfish and perch. We bbq'd most nights as well sitting on the back porch watching the sun go down... The drive into lookout mountain was easy and only took about 20 minutes. There is a Walmart and other shops plus a great little BBQ place just off River Canyon Road(10 min max). The Homeplace is far enough from the city to give you that peaceful countryside feel and close enough to drive into if you want more cosmopolitan activities. Chattanooga city is very pretty and charming. Overall I can honestly say this has been a wonderfully memorable vacation because of picking The Homeplace to stay and everything it offered to make you comfortable while there. I almost cried when it was time to leave, we definitely plan to come back! Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with us, you have a diamond! The Corley's"

  • Very nice & relaxing

"My husband & I enjoyed our stay here very much. Everything was clean and comfortable. Really loved going down to the dock every evening, grilling dinner and watching the sunset over the mountains. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars - the bed could be bigger. But otherwise, it was very nice!"
