  • Love the cabin #5 blueberry hill

"Loved the cabin Loved the setting, on a hill, in the trees, enough open sky to see the stars.! Loved the location. Between Townsend and Pigeon Forge. Loved the Hot Tub. Be sure to let the people know there is no shower in the main floor Bathroom, only a jet tub."

  • A True Mountain Retreat

"My wife and I brought 7 youth/young adults on our annual youth retreat to Gatlinburg and we stayed in this cabin. From the moment we arrived each of the kids immediately exclaimed that this was by far the best cabin we had ever reserved. From the beautiful modern decor, to the breath-taking views, to the absolute immaculate cleanliness, and to the superb comfort of every room and all the furniture, this place is perfect for a family vacation, church retreat, or small group getaway. I only have excellent things to say about it. The driveway provides for easy access to the cabin and ample parking up top. The roads leading to the cabin are easy to maneuver and GPS will bring you right to the driveway. Being in Townsend, this location is more quiet and quaint and not set right in the heart of the hustle and bustle. However, you are only 15 minutes away from the center of Pigeon Forge. We certainly preferred the more quaint idyllic setting this cabin provided over previous years' cabins that we've stayed. I will certainly be tucking this one away in the memory bank and I look forward to repeat trips here!"

  • Beautiful, secluded house in the mountains!

"We spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Brown's cabin in Townsend. It is absolutely beautiful and very secluded with gorgeous views! We had two families of 3, and the layout was perfect. Our 12 year old girls shared the loft, which they loved (and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the loft has a full bathroom). The master bedroom is on the main floor with large bathroom attached, and the third bedroom is in the walkout basement level and also has its own bathroom. It was so nice to have the complete privacy of each having our own floor! We did a lot of hiking, but actually also very much enjoyed walking around this beautiful gated community with its beautiful views (be prepared for wicked elevations - definitely will get your exercise!) We loved being in Townsend where it is so quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be back!"

  • Sweeping mountain views and great Thanksgiving atmosphere

"We stayed at Bears Den Lodge this past Thanksgiving with 18 family members and had a wonderful time. The sweeping views of the smoky mountains are impressive when you first walk into the lodge. The floor to ceiling windows and expansive deck allow you to take in the full view. The property was clean with fresh sheets, towels and a few nice fall decor touches. They even had fresh flowers in the kitchen which was a nice touch. They did have a Keurig coffee maker, but it was missing a part and the other coffee maker was broken. After reaching out to Sarah, the owner, though, two property managers came and remedied the situation by going into town and buying 2 coffee makers. We were so thankful for their quick response and prompt return on the night before Thanksgiving. The bedrooms were enough for all of us and the kids got to sleep in the game room which they liked. They probably would have like a bathroom close to the game room, but there were plenty inside the lodge. We were thankful for the extra refrigerator and ice maker in the pantry. We would not have been able to cool all of our food without them. The stacked stone fireplace was gorgeous and the ledge around it provided a perfect resting spot to sit and take in the fire. The close proximity to the Smoky Mountains allowed us to drive into the park each day and go on long hikes and return to the comfort of the lodge. Unfortunately, the pool was not open and we didn't make plans to take in the golf course, but there was still plenty to do. Only a few things I would want to mention so that they prepare for the next guests is that the kitchen be stocked with better utensils and cleaned a bit better. There was no whisk and only one spatula. Since we were cooking several big meals, it would have been nice to easily reach for these things, but we found ourselves looking in every drawer and coming up short. The oven, while it looks nice in the photo, had seen better days and the cooktop could have used a deep cleaning. There was also a sippy cup left sitting near the top of the hood in the kitchen. It may have been that the cleaning crew missed a few details, but it did not affect our overall stay. All in all, I would recommend Bears Den to anyone with a large family wanting a great fall getaway."
