  • Rustic and spacious with many imentaties to enjoy over a weekend stay.

"We had a great time with friends. Each room was unique and very comfortable. We enjoyed the porch views, outdoor spaces, horses and deer roaming around the house. The property is rustic and updated with essential outdoor imentaties like satellite TV/stereo with Bose surround sound near the outdoor kitchen, fire pit and pool, Wi-Fi green egg, pizza oven and beatiful pool area. Overall great place to get away and close to the amazing city of San Marcos. We made a quick trip to wonderworld, some went to the football game and we still had plenty of time at the ranch. We look forward to going back."

  • Great location, Comfortable Stay

"This location is great! The view of the river is even better than the pics show. We didn't have time to use any of the water "toys", but will definitely try to do so next time we return. Sylvia has made this room and bathroom a very comfortable oasis for her guests. She supplies cold water in the mini fridge, along with ice trays in the freezer. There's a great coffee maker, pair of coffee cups, pairs of bowls, plates, and silverware, and even two beach towels. The bed is very comfortable. As to the train that goes by often, we barely heard it while in the room. Sylvia does supply a noise maker for those who might still be bothered by the train. Sylvia is so nice and it was fun to hear her stories, a very lovely lady! She gives you a tour of the back yard and two decks on the water, but then gives you all the privacy you want. She made herself available for our stay, but we didn't need anything because everything was already supplied! We walked from the house to the Bobcat Stadium for the Texas State vs UofH football game. Super easy walk! We also walked from the house to Downtown. If walking to Downtown on Hopkins St, note that there is no sidewalk on the south side of Hopkins, but there is on the north side. It's not easy to cross over to the north side of Hopkins, though...it's a very busy street. We'll definitely be returning to Sylvia's oasis in the heart of San Marcos!"

  • Perfect getaway from the hustle of the city!

"What a gem La Casita Verde is! I appreciate Pam's attention to detail and hospitality. She decorated the home with Christmas items and even had the heat and music on before we arrived. There was even water and beer for us and everything you may need in the pantry. There were condiments, freshly ground coffee, tea and everything you would need if you rather cook some meals. We loved exploring all the resale shops, parks, and the college campus. We enjoyed a day trip to Gruene which is a short ride away. We definitely would stay again and plan to come back when the weather is warmer. Thank you, Pam and Dan for a much needed getaway! Happy holidays!"

  • All we hoped for and more!

"This cottage felt like home as soon as we drove up and met the owner's sister Pam waiting to welcome us. The owner Mike dropped by the next day with a plate of cookies and bottle of cheer. Remarkable sense of peace and quiet just off a main thoroughfare. Rustic on the outside with a sandstone patio, screened porch, and back deck, all of which lured us out in the mild winter weather. The kitchen is small, but very high quality stove & pots, pans, utensils, and flatware. Nothing flimsy or cheap. The Fiesta plate ware made for a festive table; never ran out of dishes even when we had family over. Small enough to feel cozy, large enough to find space if you needed it. Very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Beautiful antique furniture, fun collections displayed here and there, and an amazing assortment of hats made for a fun atmosphere. Our favorite place to stay in San Marcos!"
