  • Perfect location, Beautiful surroundings, Spacious cabin, Attentive owners and the BEST snow!

"Our family of six, including four tough-to-impress, older/grown kids spent mid-March at the cabin and EVERYONE had a wonderful experience! We had great communication with the owners from the beginning and, once there, they quickly answered every single (silly) question we asked. We landed at SLC late at night and were able to find the cabin and get in within 25-30 minutes. DO heed the 4x4 rental warning. We needed it on the last two days when we went overnight from highs of 66F to 12" of snow! The cabin itself is spacious; The owners threw in many nice details - different coffees, teas, soaps, bath salts, etc. The kitchen has every possible small appliance and cooking tool you could need - rice cooker, griddle, great pans, baking sheets, pyrex-es, etc. The long, beautiful kitchen counter and huge sofa allowed us to enjoy dinners and the ensuing lazy evenings together, after our tiring ski days. There's a nice fireplace inside and a great firepit area outside the front door. There's also a really nice creek not 50 steps from the cabin, which kept the kids entertained for hours with trout sightings and cool pools to wade into (yes, in March! :). Within a mile's walk, there is a popular rock climbing area (The Gate, The Thumb, etc.) that can keep you busy in good weather. Also, on our day off from skiing, we visited Lisa Falls and Hidden Falls - both are mild, short hikes for kids (or lazy/sore-legged teenagers ;) For other Utah first-timers - There are two main roads that lead you to the skiing areas - One to Snowbird and Alta (6 miles from cabin!). The other to Solitude and Brighton (about 20 minutes). Being that close to the ski areas not only made it quick and convenient to ski but also kept you in the mountain environment as opposed to a hotel in the nearby town. (~11 miles to the 24-hour WalMart) Additional random info: Although I am partial to Google Maps, use Apple Maps to map the cabin address. G-Maps did NOT find the address! For ski lift tickets, we went for a Super Pass which let us ski any of the four ski areas mentioned. We rented from Creekside Sports Rental (8a-5p) at the base of Snowbird's Entry #1. (again, just 6 miles away!). Creekside gave us a 40% discount with the SuperPass. Try to get the SuperPasses first - Creekside needs the actual pass (not your printed proof) to give you the discount. Brighton has night skiing. (not Wednesdays, I think.) The SuperPass lets you ski Brighton and Solitude on the same day."

  • Perfect spot for family vacation

"My extended family of 10 stayed at the Cottonwood Canyon Condo for a biking and mountain climbing vacation. It was the perfect spot between Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. Great grocery shopping within minutes. The condo was very clean and obviously well maintained. Our questions were always answered quickly prior to and during our stay. Highly recommend"

  • Spacious condo, great location, safe area

"Our family and friends stayed on this spacious condo for 3 nights. We have more than enough room for our group. We ran into some minor issues, which were reported immediately to the property manager such as the following: 1) a leak from under the sink in the master's bedroom, 2) the switches for the vent and heater in the master's shower was intermittent 3) 2 out of the 4 garage door openers not functioning, and 4) the coffee machine was defective. The property manager was quick to provide some temporary measures to fix the issues we reported. I forgot to mention that the lights at the master's restroom was flickering and it takes about 15-20 seconds to fully light up. Suggestions/recommendations for the owner: please upgrade your toaster (it is so old, not clean and rusty), and coffee maker (buy a new one). Also, instruct the house cleaner to dish wash ALL kitchen utensils, plates, cups, glasses, bowls etc.etc. and clean ALL the cabinets shelves, and trays as they were dusty. We saw a bug in the shelf for the chopping boards and stuff. Likewise, please provide extra garbage bags especially for the kitchen. Overall, we had a great stay. We were able to cook some breakfast before we headed out to explore Salt Lake and nearby attractions. We literally were out of the condo during the daytime (only come back around 9:30PM or later) and it's good to come home to rest in comfortable beds and pillows, and clean beddings."

  • Ski Central

"We five Skiers found this Duplex large, well stocked, convenient and comfortable. There is plenty of space. Only a half block to the road to Alta / Snowbird and a 1-2 minute drive to the road up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton and solitude. A very nice 8 person Jacuzzi that is maintained daily. Smith's Grocery store is a 3 minute walk away. I would definitely return."
