  • Perfect ski/snowboard weekend getaway

"Hello! Me and three of my friends rented the Carmel loft for a ski getaway and it was exactly what we were looking for. I would and have recommended it to anyone i know. Linda and Jim were very nice hosts that honestly allowed us to have a great time in their home and didn't ask for much in return. I am grateful for their hospitality. The house was always warm when we got back from the mountain, they had room in the basement for us to put are ski gear, we had unlimited access to there pool table which we took advantage of every night, and as long as we asked in advance they would prepare the wood sauna for us which was amazing. Thank you again for everything Jim and Linda!! I look forward to staying again in the future!"

  • Quintessential Vermont Hospitality

"Sometimes it's just the home or the location that is special, but once in awhile you get lucky and find a host family that makes the visit complete. That is what we found with Harold, Emma and Carey Earle! From the snowy chats in the driveway to the visits with the chickens and goats, we couldn't have enjoyed our time with them more! Grooming the trails in the gaitor with Harold were afternoons well spent with my teenage daughters. Riding the snowmobiles through the field and groomed trails meant we never had to leave the property. Enjoyed the games and puzzles that were available and made good use of the full kitchen to make meals to share with my family and new friends. We did not want for anything and thoroughly enjoyed the homemade pickled beets, horseradish and maple syrup. We were spoiled by having everything we needed already provided. So we saw many comments about the beds and now I understand! They are like large, comfy dream machines and we slept so well. Girls could have easily shared a bed and room to bring friends next time! There will definitely be a next time and we now count the Earle family as friends! We hope other families will find this little slice of heaven and spend some quality time enjoying this Vermont experience."

  • Very nice condo, very nice location

"We spent Christmas break at Jay with our 3 kids. The condo is as advertised and in excellent condition. Everything worked, was very clean, and was well equipped. The first floor entry was very convenient for ski boots and gear. The location is superb for ease of skiing- truly ski in/ ski out. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and honest. Jay Peak has a lot of great family activities including a large waterpark and indoor ice rink with lots of available public skate/stick times in addition to the skiing. You can either take a free shuttle down to the resort area or it's a short drive. All restaurants and shops are there. My family had a fantastic vacation and we will hopefully be able to return next year."

  • Amazing ski trip

"We had an amazing time at this beautiful lake house. There are three beautiful rooms and a large loft space that could have slept several more people than we had (5 for the first two nights and 7 for the last two nights). The kitchen has mostly everything that you would need during your stay with plenty of cookware, utensils, dishware, etc. The dining table was set up for us all to be able to sit there but it could have fit at least one more (8 total). The living room area is beautiful with vaulted ceilings and a gorgeous fire place. One piece of advice would be to watch the YouTube video for the fireplace to know how to set the fire as it's a bit more complicated than most but incredibly warm. The rooms were all well appointed with comfy beds. The two bathrooms were beautiful and even had shampoo, conditioner, and soap waiting in the showers (a great touch!). Overall, we had a great stay. The house is gorgeous, serene, and I can only imagine even more beautiful in the summer. I would only say one negative thing about this rental and that is the driveway. If you plan on staying here, you will need a car with either four wheel/all wheel drive or snow tires/chains. The drive down from Rt. 100 is a steep switchback road with a very steep portion right before the house (going down isn't the problem though). All of our cars had a bit of trouble getting up that first leg in the mornings, particularly the one with front wheel drive; we ended up having to break out the snow chains to get it up the driveway. All that being said, we had a wonderful stay and had a lot of fun at Jay Peak which is about a 30 minute drive north."
